I'm so happy! Pooh Bear is improving every day! He still naps most of the day (which is fine), but he's starting to actually put weight on his left hind leg now! Every time I take him out to go potty, I walk him around the yard on his retractable leash. And he was actually stepping on his left leg last night and today! But he's still three-legging it most of the time.

I've been doing the extension and flexions with his leg, doing a little more each day; he was swearing at me on Friday and a little bit yesterday morning when I was doing them. But the last half of yesterday and today he let me do them with no complaining! And today he's even started lying on his left side! He really wanted to yesterday but he just couldn't. And he can lie on his back now too!

And he's getting along great again with his sisters. He didn't really want anything to do with them for most of Friday. Here's a few pictures from yesterday:

It wasn't his foster mom who covered the surgery, it was the rescue shelter I adopted him (and Jackie and Maya) from. And they're taking care of the post-surgery vet bills too.

Pooh Bear has a long way to go, but he's doing so good considering he just had surgery three days ago. He's really turned into a momma's boy too. And Jackie and Maya are being great too. They know that he's not feeling good so they're not trying to get him to play, but they'll cuddle up with him.

Oh, that is such good news! He seems to really be showing a strong determination to overcome this obstacle. Dogs just don't view "handicaps" the way we do. They just do what they can to keep plugging along. I'm so pleased that Pooh is already working so hard to get better.
