cheyenne has recently had a bump pop up on her nose... at first it was small and white-ish and has just inflamed about twice the size and is now a gooey reddish-pink color... doesn't seem to be painful at all, and it's firm, not mushy... does anyone have any idea what this might be????

My dog just had one of those pop up right above his eye. I took him to the vet twice so far (I'm a panicky mom) and both times she said that it was a skin tag or a wart.

I'm taking him in on Wednesday to have it removed since it's so close to his eye it keeps getting irritated.

I definately think you should take your dog in to the vet though, just in case. Hopefully it's nothing!

Best wishes

[quote name='Smooshie']It may be a histiocytoma (non-cancerous skin tumor) Take her to your vet to be sure. Boxers are prone to them.

Great site for info on dog health & behavior, but boy! It's scary...

My 4.5 mth. old pup has a bump (but not pink like the histiocytoma) on her ear that the vet says "is wierd" but that can wait until she's spayed to be removed (i.e. in 1.5 mths.). I asked if a biopsy was necessary in the meantime & she said "no". I assumed she meant that is was just a wart or something equally innocuous, but now I'm worried, reading about all the other things it could be!

Is this a case where I should get a 2nd opinion?
