yellowlabsrule
Does anyone use a clicker for training their dogs? If so, how has it worked?
abker17
Yes, I use it mostly in agility training. It works GREAT! I highly recomend it!!!!!!!! :D
Nancy B
Yes, both of my dogs are clicker trained. A while ago there was a long thread about clicker use in the "everything about dogs" area. I'll see if I can find it and bump it up to the top.
GoldenLuv
I use the clicker on a couple things. We don't use it for agiity but I have seen people use it for agility and it worked. I started a while ago and she was taught the watch me command. I like the clicker training way... I just did not start in the beggining so I am just using it to teach new stuff. yellowlabsrule
You eventually phase the treat out, right? Do you phase the clicker out also?
Carolk9s
I have used clicker with Brittany and Candy. Both girls reacted quite well to it, especially Candy. I tried it with Jesse, he hated it. Yes you slowly fade the treats and the clicker. I find it helpful though to occaisionally reinforce with the clicker and treats. I also use it when I'm teaching or reinforcing anything a little different in our agility practice.
