1. many celebrities not only own rescue dogs, but they volunteer a lot with the rescue oragnizations. there's a few stories i've read about it. i couldnt tell you the sites though. bad memory. it's great though what some are doing. they're fame really helps to get the word out that many dogs are in need of a home. these celebs who buy from bad breeders just need a good whack. but i can't condem celebs who buy from reputable breeders with good intentions.
2. i agree. and especially with that particular breed, the number of health risks is just too high to be asking how to breed on a forum. JMO. :o
3. there are also tibetan mastiffs and bearded tibetan mastiffs. tibetan spaniels are wonderful little dogs.
4. CP i believe would be cuddlypuppy. right? what a good poem. it tells the truth. puppies are not presents. no creature should be a christmas gift. not like that.
5. what a pretty picture. mine do the same thing in the rain/snow. never thought about snapping pics of it though. great pic eric! :D
6. big hugs to you. rest in peace smudgie. and many more big hugs to you tammy.
7. right now there's a big demand for tiny toat-along dogs because of the stars on tv carrying them around with them. in due time, it will be all about the big dogs, or the dogs with long hair, or the even hairless dogs. it's like purses, and this is why it is so sad.
8. oh he is BEAUTIFUL!!!! good luck and CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!!!
9. the litter box idea in the garage sounds great. could you perhaps get a little portable heater out there to make it a little warmer for them?
10. yikes! i agree with mouse, id have an extraction done. but whichever you choose, good luck with it DP. :D
11. i dont think it is true (in america) that in every state and city there is a certain number you're allowed to have. i know some people who have large numbers of hunting dogs. the only license i think they have is a hunting license.
12. i know several yorkshire breeders. it's just the bad ones that make those claims. some bad pei breeders will make the claim that all peis will make a great family dog. i've only ever sold one family pet and the dog is constantly watched, as all dogs should be, around the kids.
13. mating a male will not fix this behaviour. even after a dog is fixed, it doesnt always stop. and humping is not always a sign of "let me mate right now". it is also a sign of dominance.
14. Catalan Sheepdog? that's a pretty rare breed. i wouldnt put money to it that that is what it is, i still say SCWT. but, as has been said before!!! HE IS DARLING!! :D
15. what an adorable baby! he looks like a soft coated wheaten terrier mix to me. but wowsers, the cuteness is making me blind!!!!!! :o
16. maybe the lady is lonely. i guess some people starve for attention so much that they use message boards literally as their last hope. she must not be right in the head if she's so set on it. sorry kat. i agree with newfie, you do have to be careful!
17. speaking of pariah-type dogs, how about say the Dingo? Canaan Dog? New Guinea Singing Dog? they all are the pariah type dogs. just throwing those out for a few references i guess.
18. I am a breeder. I have bred Shar-Peis for many years, and i feel that i am responsible. i never breed a litter without being sure they'll be placed, i do health checks, etc etc. this board has been very open to me and my bigmouthed views  and i am greatful to be able to post here. also, i agree with Mei Mei. i also agree with K, so many unwanted animals. which is why i also do Pei/Mix Rescue!!!
19. sorry, to me that is not what makes a breed. they dont seem any different to me than a cokerpoo or an ori pei.
20.
Remember ~ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it's only skin deep.
and he sure does have a lot of skin to show for that. i think he's lovely.
21. i think there are better ways to improve on a breed. without creating new ones who have just as bad of health problems in the long run. i dont particularly care for "shilohs" or "kings". jmo.
22. can you imagine me or any other pei owner walking down the street with a.... POOPEI!!!!!    :drinking:
23. i personally do not see the shiloh shepherd as a breed. i think a german shepherd is much better and more logical. :)
24. wooohooo gooo ELI!!!!!!!! hip hip hooorayy!!!! :B-fly: :BIG: :multi: :bigok:
25. Matty Wrote:
By the way, purebreds are not natural, and I think they are much more unhealthy and outrageous than purposeful crossbreeding.
since when is breeding poo mixes purposeful? chipoos, pomapoos, pugapoos, pekepoos, cockapoos, goldendoodles, those are purposeful?! as a breeder of dogs, i have to entirely disagree here. who is to say purebred are all unhealthy? who is to say there aren't mutts out there who are so messed up they look like a lego set gone bad compared to a purebred with HD?
