1. I grew up with APBT's. My dad always had at least 3 of them running around & he bred them sometimes, he would have a litter every 3 or 4 years, mainly if he wanted a new pup or one of our family members did. All of his puppies went to family or friends. My mom was a Chi person and always had several. I have had a little experience with other breeds but always have had a pitty in the house. I don't want to know what life WITHOUT them is like. I have either had or fostered (usually for friends) Cocker, Lab, Irish Setter & Great Danes. Oh my ex had Dobies & a coon hound also. I just can't stay away from the pitty smile! Debby
2. AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She SAID it!!!!!!! Run for your lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Debby
3. Good luck suing me anyway!! Even if they were to win (highly unlikely) all they would get would be some speuterd dogs & cats!! Bank owns everything else! Debby
4.
I'm new to this forum, a Cocker breeder, and the word "puppy mill" caught my eye while looking over the various topics. The term "puppy mill" was started by the animal rights activists about 15 years ago and is used pejoratively by them about ANYONE who breeds, so I am very surprised to see other dog breeders using the term. I believe breeders can be classified as commercial, show and/or hobby breeders, but the terms "puppy mill" and "back yard breeder" are definately not terms that I would throw around lightly, especially about people that I know nothing about. I have been around dogs all of my life--my Mother was a Cocker breeder for almost 20 years--and years ago it was nothing for a typical kennel to have a dozen dogs or more, and people certainly expected to make money at it. I'm afraid that organizations like PETA and the Humane Society of the United States have even convinced breeders that it is somehow "evil" to breed, which is a shame, because these organizations' agenda is the end of the use of ALL domesticted animals--no pets, no livestock for meat, no zoos, circuses or rodeos, and we must all become vegetarians. There is a very high demand now for small dogs, as spaying and neutering has at last succeeded in reducing the numbers of euthanasias of adoptable pets--reduced by about 70 percent or more since the 1970's, and in some areas of the country there are now actually shortages of small dogs and puppies. There are still some areas of the country with animal "over population" problems, like Los Angeles and parts of the South, but some shelters in the NE United States are even importing small dogs from Peurto Rico, the Phillipines and Taiwan, bringing in new diseases into the US, in order to meet the demand for small dogs, while breeding is being discouraged here in the US by ever tightening rules and regulations against breeders, constantly put forth by the animal rights extremists. But if I were looking for a small dog, I would certainly rather have a dog from these people than a dog off of the streets of Peurto Rico. I would also be careful how you toss around these terms--"puppy mill" and "back yard breeder"-- so as to protect yourself legally, as anything said so publically that would injure these people's business can be construed legally as "slander," and they can sue you for damages, and no disclaimers about these postings being "private" will protect you if they can prove financial injury. SunDog in Florida
Well, puppy millers & BYBers can sue me all they want BUT I can almost BET that I could prove they are such. Wouldn't be too hard to do would it? Debby
5. Just look at the misery on those poor dogs faces. Sarah is absolutley the WORST!!! Oh the horror!!!!!!!! :drinking: Debby
6. Welcome!! This is a really nice place with really nice people!! We just have a bad "neighbor" we are trying to run out of the neighborhood. Debby
7.

...
No, what I see she writes is how horribly irresponsible many of the owners and breeders of Pit Bulls are. I don't think she slurs dogs and their owners as much as she really hits home with some of her comments and that makes people uncomfortable. Carla

what nonsense.. all pit bull owners know about the horrible irresponsibility of some owners and "breeders". We don't need Primrose to lecture us. And especially because her "solution" is "mandatory s/n of unregistered pit bulls" (though she really means all non-AKC/UKC pit bulls) That means laws that would enable officials to come to people's houses to check on the breeding status and registration of their dogs. Since when do you favor that sort of police state? Not to mention her bizarre obsession with aggression and the disingenuous deliberate way she seques her discussions from dog-dog agression to dog-human aggression. Nor the incredibly cruel way she uses people's personal tragedies or difficulties You should know better... and you would if you actually read all her posts instead of just doing these "hit and run" defense-of-Primrose comments. Nic started a board just so Primrose could have her own uncensored forum. Funny how no one---least of all Primrose--- ever went there. Maybe you'ld like to reinvigorate it so you have a place to chat with her
What SHE said! Show me ONE irresponsible owner OR breeder on this board. Just one. Debby
8. Sarah, you are such a trouble maker!!   Debby
9.

Her threads are edited because she says the same things over & over & over and it almost always related to how horrible pit bulls are. She posts untruths and twists words of other posters. The posts of hers in which she does NOT diss pit bulls & owners are usually left alone. Good luck finding them. They are far & few between. She DOES have some good points, but she ALWAYS counters them with a slur to the dogs & their owners.
No, what I see she writes is how horribly irresponsible many of the owners and breeders of Pit Bulls are. Then maybe you SHOULD extend her the open invitation to post at Purebredpuppy.com. There are many, many more irresponsible pit bull and am staff breeders & owners there than there are here. Debby
10. I wash my dogs kongs when ever I see an empty one laying around still in one piece. Which isn't very often. Debby
11. Ewwwwwwwwww!! I HATE snakes!! Hate them Hate them HATE them!! Good Belle for taking care of her family!!! Debby
12. It looks like one to me!! BUT those little merle's are adorable aren't they? Debby
13.
and another question------------------- some of you are posting just to get post counts. you can tell, because they post a smiley face or a one or two word so-called sentance. I know if I ask a question I would appreciate a real answer, not just some smiley face!!!!!!!!!! does anybody see what I am talking about? primrose has some good points, and she is right about the mob mentality, and about posting how pit bulls can play with kittens and then you make fun of the picture
Her threads are edited because she says the same things over & over & over and it almost always related to how horrible pit bulls are. She DOES have some good points, but she ALWAYS counters them with a slur to the dogs & their owners. And what business is it of hers (or anyone else's ie: yours) if we make fun of the pictures we post? Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I wanna be 21 again! Debby
14. How scary!! I'm glad he is ok! Munkee has choked on raw hide & now none of my dogs are allowed to have it. Luckily it was a flat piece that had gotten wedged in his throat & I was able to reach it & pull it out. Debby
15. I'm with Mouse. Offleash, my dogs suddenly become deaf when they are outside. Mine are never offleash anyway outside of their yards so I'm sorry I can't be of more help to you. One thing that DOES work for me sometimes is to yell "Any one want a cookie?" That usually brings them running from what ever they have found in the yard that deserves their undivided attention. Debby
16. Happy Birthday you handsome man you!! Debby
17. Everything she said!! PLUS, tell your mom that being a volunteer looks GREAT on your college resume!! Just be prepared that this may be a long term commitment, plus the fact that you may get so attached to the dog that you can't give him up. I can't foster becasue (among other things) I wouldn't be able to let them leave to their new homes! Good luck! Debby
18. You're right, unless I missed something.............this story makes NO sense whatsoever! Debby
19. aaaawwww, what a cutie!! Thanks for the info! Debby
20. A person I know is thinking of getting a dog from a breeder ( I talked her OUT of getting a pit bull, she's not really the responsible type) who is breeding a Champion (?) White Lab to a Chocolate Lab. I've never see nor heard of a white Lab. IS there such a thing or is she getting ripped off? Debby
21. I vote for him everyday on two different computers! Deby
