1. DId I say any where in my post that made any one a bad person becasue they like to pay outrageous sums of money for mix breed dogs? Nope. Debby
 2. Basically because buying one of these dogs is supporting BYBing. None of them ( that I have seen) are health tested, none of them have any titles ( since there is no reputable registry that will acknowledge them) You don't have to buy a dog from a shelter, no one is saying that, but buy playing into this sort of thing you are encouraging BYBing, just as if you bought a purebred dog of another breed. If you create a market for them it will continue, just like with all the BYB pit bull breeders, lab breeders, GSD breeders & so on. Sorry, I use the word mutt alot, my Ollie dog is a mutt & she doesn't seem to mind. Debby
 3. Wait a minute! I have not posted on this thread out of respect for the board (this is a very tender subject with me) but you say the the dog is 3 or 4 months old ( I am guessing this is when you got him) and you expected him to come TRAINED from the shelter?? Maybe I should just shut up on this thread.......it is upsetting me greatly. Poor little puppy, I hope he can find a loving home to go to soon. Ok, one more thing, PERHAPS if you had taken the time to socialize the dog, train the dog, spend time with the dog things would have worked out much differently. I HOPE you are not going to be getting another dog any time soon. Debby
 4.
Could I have prevented this?
I don't think so, short of not letting them play anymore & that;s not fair to anyone. It's possible that your dogs TOOTH bumped his mouth & cause the cut. Who knows? The way your dog acted AFTER the accident says everything to me. Thanks for defending your dog also. ALOT of times people just PTS the dog & insist he attacked. Debby
 5. Still an accident. Did the dog act aggressively or fearful? Are you (or whoever it happend to) OK? Justice grabbed the water hose out of my hand a few weeks ago & got my forefinger & thumb as well. It hurt all the way to my ELBOW!! I could not move my hand for a few minutes it hurt so bad BUT she didn't mean to hurt me, she just got excited about the hose. She LOVES playing in water & when she sees the hose turned on she grabs it & runs around watering my yard for me! There were a couple of punctures on my hand but like I said, she just got excited. Debby
 6.
It may not be "proper pit bull temperament" but, you know what, it was his fault that he waited for so long to get rid of his ex-roomate and so he contributed to the dog's problems. He OWED it to that dog to work with it.
My thoughts EXACTLY Julie!! This was not a dog he found or got as an adult, this was a dog he had raised as a puppy. I am NOT sure if his ex-roommate physicaly abused Doc, he says no but who knows. I feel if he REALLY cared as much for Doc as he claims, he would have at least tried instead of tossing him to the side. The new girl friend took over a part of my friend's life that Doc was used to having. There were some changes made in regards to living arrangments & i think it was too much for Doc to handle. Nothing that couldn't be worked out though. I feel better coming here & I stand by my feelings in this situation. Thanks! Debby
 7.
OK Lets say that you are playing around with your dog and he accidentally nips you. Like you are bending down to kiss him and he is coming up to lick you. Do you consider that an accident? Or do you consider that an actual dog bite?
Accident. I get nipped alot playing with mine. I play pretty rough with them & at times I will get a nip as they are trying to grab the tug, it had NEVER happened in anger or fear, just play & it's an accident. I also play a "bitey face" game with them & Munkee has gotten my nose on accident a time or two. It hurts HIM more than it does me. When he feels a tooth on my skin he DROPS to the floor with this " I hurt my mommie" look on his face. Justice isn't quite THAT dramatic but it still bothers her when it happens. Ollie could give a poop. Debby
 8. My daughter sprayed Munkee's white places pink a few years ago with colored hair spray & dressed him in a bikini in order to win a radio contest. She came in second only to some rednecks who jumped rope with cow intestins. I have pictures somewhere but no scanner to post them. Debby
 9.
not exactly true Cheeky. There are som purebred dogs at shelters, given up for varius reasons, but they are purebreds. My Foxhound is purebred. I got her from a rescue society, tied to a "shelter".
Ooops, I meant to word that towards the Labradoodles, not the shelter dogs. Debby
 10. You could also tell your parents that if they want to purchase a mutt, they would be better served by going to their local shelter & shopping for a dog there. If ???doodle or Labr.... ARE purebred dogs then so is every dog you will encounter in the shelter. That is ALL these dogs are, mutts, they are not a pure breed in any shape or form. NO reputable registry recognizes them & it is rather silly to spend hundreds of dollars on a mix breed dog. JMO. Debby
 11.

With K, people say stuff that makes me really upset and I never know what to respond. Often because K is a "big, black dog" she is really discriminated against and many of the other owners will walk away from us. I remember just a few days ago a woman was walking her shih tzu and they saw me and K. The woman started talking to her DOG and calling K a "big meany who's gonna hurt you if we go near him".
Ugh, I hate that, I think it hits a little too close to home for me. A neighbour was walking up with her three kids and two of them were petting both dogs, however one was sticking close to Banzai. When his mother asked if she wanted to pet Shenanigans, he said no, because daddy told him that black people and black dogs are bad. Well did her face not turn red, me being interracial and a nice caramel colour could only look at her. Eventually she stumbled out with some poor excuse, but boy oh boy, does it ever bother me now that people don't like Shenanigans because he's a black dog. Poor baby. :(
And people wonder why racism won't die, it is TAUGHT! Debby
 12. I'm waving at ya, can you see me?? Debby
 13.
You dont need to respond to the stupid untrue comments if its made by a TROLL! STOP FEEDING THE TROLLS!!!! ...trolls are evil on this board but along with the ones in my dryer that keep stealing my socks! :bad-words: Dumb trolls! I WILL get my revenge, I WILL get my socks back! :drinking:
Can you look for mine too while you're at it??  Hey, I see you are from Dallas, me too. Garland actually. Nice to see ya! Debby
 14.
This is a pic of Jack-who just happened to find a hot pink magic marker under the couch one day.... Anyone else have any "been bad" pics?
I LOVE pink pit bulls!!! Debby
 15. V says..........
Oh my last to add was not so much a comment but a statement at a work function.... PITBULL AND ROTTIE OWNERS DONT HAVE NICE HOMES SO THEY CAN HAVE THAT KIND OF DOG TEARING IT UP??? I replied yes all pitbulls owners are govt funded and live in trailer parks idiot.......
Well MY home is nice, except for what the CATS have done to it!!!!! :evilbat: Well the carpet DOES need shampoiing since it has been raining for almost 2 months STRAIGHT!!!! And Munkee did chew the door frame but that's no big deal, take about $5.00 to fix it. Debby
 16.
Ok maybe its none of my business if you all want to argue with Primorse, but Id hate to see this be 30 pages long like the other thread. Theres no reason for this, were not getting anywhere... *sigh* ...and Ill say it again, when will the madness stop?!?!? :( Uh, K, were those 3 posts just in this thread or all over the board? Because there was only two guest posts, Sam and PitBullEmily (thats not including Primmy's numerous posts.)
If we as pit bull owners DON'T respond to stupid untrue comments made by unknowledgable peole it is as if we accept them. Any one who is not familiar with the breed can read these comments & take them as truth since they were not disputed. Plus it's fun! Debby
 17.
I think Primrose is right Cheekymunky your abusing your dog your making him wear 80's clothing styles. I am calling the SPCA!!
I think you are right!! Please don't call! Actually she destroyed all of the evidence (except for the picture) shortly afterwards so she has never again been subject to such abuse!  These pictures are GREAT!!! Keep them coming! Debby
 18.
Although I swore not to reply to these posts...I would just like to add here that although guest Sam has supposedly only made 1 post..the admin pages show 3 posts from the same person :-?
At this time I have nothing else to as to any of the above posts except SOMEBODY GOT BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BWWWBAAHAHAHWHWHAHWHAHWHHAHWHAHWHAHWHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carry on........................... Debby
 19. You are killing me with the cuteness here!! THIS picture is priceless! OOOPS OOOPS OOOPS I gave bad advice![/ This is what it SHOULD read! Go to your MSN pictures, click in the picture you want to post to make it full size, then RIGHT click on the picture, when the box comes up click properties (at the bottom). When THAT box comes up you will see some gibberish & one of them will say Address URL on the right, hightlight the WHOLE address beginning with http:\ and copy. It will be a long address to be sure to get all of it or it won't work. On your post click on the little grey box up top that says IMG (it is at the end under the subject line). It will place it on your post. THEN PASTE the address of your picture & hit the IMG button again & it will placed on your post. It sounds harder than it is. You can practice by clicking "preview" instead of "submit" until you get it right. Soory about that! Debby
 20.
Indeed, if you think you can give Sam legal advice based on the laws of Sam's state, (which you will presumably look up on the internet, to the best of your ability) particularly after telling Sam you are a law school graduate, you are getting onto some sort of thin ice with regard to the unlicensed practice of law, don't you think? Maybe you shouldn't go there.
Now that is one stupid statement! Is she charging Sam or any one else a fee for her advice? Is she representing him in court? jeezuzeffnchrise!! You must have an arm span of 200 yards with as far as you reach. She put you in your place & you are bothered by it. You don't have to admit it Primmy, we ALL know. Debby
 21.
In all honesty, my feeling are mixed. An APBT with a proper, confidant temperament would not have become fear aggressive from simply being yelled at, berated, and ignored. There are APBTs that end up in shelters that have been starved, beaten and mutilated that still have nothing but a smile and a kiss for humanity. If it were his best buddy as he seems to have claimed, I think he would have worked with the dog. However, the dog had an improper temperament, and fear aggressive dogs are a HUGE liability for the breed. This is a tough one...
I agree odnarb & that is why I have been so conflicted over this. It is NOT proper temperment for a pit bull. BUT, it is his personal dog, a dog that he claimed to love like no other and I feel under those cicumstances he let his dog down greatly. If he were breeding this dog or showing it or having it out in the gen pop for some reason then I might see it differently. But that was not the case. If he wanted to better his dog he could have TRIED. If it would have worked is something we will never know. To ME it would have been worth a shot. From what he described the snaps were more of the "leave me alone" variety & not the " I wanna piece of you". Justice is shy, she is NOT fear aggressive but she is rather shy & submissive to the point of embaresment. After a couple of minutes with a new person she acts like has known them all of her life but first she is leary. Munkee is an all out dork & acts like everyone is his long lost buddy, but he is soft & yelling at him turns him into a baby. I have chosen to work with Justice & she had improved greatly. I think this MIGHT have been the case here too. I think he took the lazy way out. Debby
 22. Munkee LOVES wearing clothes, I think he was a drag queen in another life. Justice will eat the clothes off as you are dressing her. Debby
 23. All together now "Let's get physical, physical, I wanna get physical............." Oh and Ollie says to Charlie "Hey baby, what's your sign?" Debby
