I got to wondering about pet insurance this week -- after our rather expensive visit to the vet this week. Does anyone have pet insurance? Or know much about it? I mean, is a small monthly premium would save me the $300 vet visit, is it worth it? Or are the companies that offer insurance a little fishy? Thanks for the info!

Oscar was horrible with the biting in play -- he did grow out of it, but we used the above mentioned yelping and leaving, as well as a squirt bottle .... good luck.

The Christmas tree and two dogs??? HELP!

The boxes sound lovely, but I know that Oscar would tear apart any box left on the floor .... I know I can train Oscar away from the tree, but I'm worried about my 6 month old kitten. any suggestions? -
hey starfox -- my Oscar has the same stuffed toy issues. where'd you find that mallard?

You gave her all that you could and both of you are better for it. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I don't know what to say but that you and sassy are in our thoughts. You'll make the right decision, I'm sure. You've always done the best for her. ((((hugs))))

I'll be happy to pass this around. Can you tell us where you're located? -
maybe that dog is misstreated. does nt look that well taken care of. its a pit for freak sakes. it lives on a chain. no food. no water.
what would make you think that this dog lives on a chain with no food or water? Do you really think that's how all people treat their pits? If so, you have a lot to learn ....

Thanks for posting this HF. I've been doing a bit of research myself, and have actually encountered some people who have told me that I must not take very good care of my dog because I feed him kibble
-
so I have no advice  but i think your pups are pretty.
-
that was me ... :-?

I feed Oscar a bowl of kibble at bout 7AM and a bowl of kibble at about 8PM. Every once and again he gets an egg or a bit of yogurt in his food. He also gets a treat ball with some kibble and maybe carrot in it when I get home from work. But that's mainly to keep him busy so I can change before we go out to play ....

Dangerous Dog Warning From Animal Control!!!

I just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for everything you're going through. It's been a terrible time recently. I wish there was a way I could help. On another note, I had a neighbor, who is very vocal about disapproving of my own living situation (young, unmarried, interracial couple), tell my other neighbors that Oscar had growled at her - either from inside the house or on lead at my side when she let her yippy little dog fuss at him -- and that she was going to report him as vicious. I knocked on her door to talk to her and she slammed it in my face. So, a lawyer friend of mine called her and discussed the situation with her. We've had no more problems .... A bit of advice, if I may -- write everything down. Document every conversation and incident with the neighbor. God forbid it comes to that, but you may need it. -
I use Biogroom Oatmeal. It's fantastic.

I've been told that if I do anything that might 'embarass' the dog, I will get a divorce ..... not that we're married .... but he works all night :evilbat:

I see. Oscar's on the chicken one and it smellls a little sweet, but better than the other kibbles i've tried! and he loves it!!! I thought about the fish, but ..... I was afraid it'd smell ....
-
That's fabulous!! yea!!! and it doesn't sound like you're gloating -- just proud. :)
-
good point gooey. when Oscar had a cold and stopped eating his dry food, I did the water thing and mixed it around. I guess it makes it smellier, but he was all over it then!!
