1. Well I haven't picked one out for my dog...but some of my other pets have middle names! C@ts -Muze Asure -Oreo Cookie Guinea pigs -Hairy J.J. (it stands for Jumbo Jet) -Dawson Squeaks
2. Yeah, and I thought my breeder was charging alot for the show pups. She was selling them for $1,000 (some more...). Which is practically nothing cimpared to $8,000. Thats WAY to much. I hate those people so much... I looked on their site, and they have about 20 more pups for sale now.
3. Our voting paid off! :D
4. Goodness your boss IS crazy. Thats horrible she looks at dogs that way. It sounds to me as if she views them as little breeding objects...
5. Its good that they got adopted. I looked at the pictures, some were such cuties! But most didn't look a thing like poms...those darn breeders...
6. I found the pit in two tries. I confuzed it with the AST at first...
7. Ok, I don't know if anyone will even care to read all this, but I've got to get this off my chest... As some of you may know, I own a pom, that I got just recently. When I got him, my Mom showed me all the site's of the breeder's she had considerd buying from. (I think I asked out of curiosity is why...). One was located in CA, run by a couple of guys who seemed very caring about their dogs. Then, about a week ago I saw Nichole Richie on Jay Leno talking about a pom she'd purchased from a CA breeder being WAY overpriced, and that she had "made some phone calls", and *I think* got refunnded. But what really gave me a chuckle is when she said the people had gotten aressted. I said to my mom, "You think that shes talking about those people?". We both kind of laughed, and I completly forgot about it. Now though, just tonight, I was reading through some posts on another doggie board, an it had a title something like "Beware Pom Puppy Buyers!", something like that. Of course, my love of poms "forced" me to read it. So, I was scanning down the post, and I read some HORRIFYING things. These are quotes from the post the person had made: "The police raided a Pom breeders home in Dana Point, CA where they had been keeping 30 poms in their attic (including 2 more dead in a freezer)." "Also note that they don't show pictures of their breeding stock, just the puppies." "The dogs were sick and had all sorts of problems and have now been removed from the home and the owners arrested." OMG. :o That is not only sickeing, but it makes my heart go out to all those poor little dogs.... Also, according to the poster, they are right back at breeding their dogs. And on top of all that, my mom was considering buying a pup from them! Good thing we didn't, supporting those peoples breeding practices would be a terrible thing to do, and I would regret it all my life. I've been a little "confuzed" for about an hour, so, I hope everything I said came out understandable. I was just so frightened to think I could have actually gotten a puppy from them, and shakin up to hear that animals are being treated that badly, by people I THOUGHT were kind-hearted.
8. Thats so sad Stargaze... :( If that statistic is true then I would also go with the spaying/neutering, even if there is some sort of risk.
9. I was curious as to what everyone thought on the spay/neuter subject. I believe that both are absolutley necessary unless you plan to breed (responsibly that is), or your dog has a problem with going under anesthesia. Thoughts?
10. I thought I was going to have a hard time voting, because poms are my absolute favorite breed, but then I saw Jakcie and oh no! :D Shes too cute!
11. That poor pup... My pom eats just about everything. He gets things I didn't even know that we had on our floors. Socks (which I TRIED to pick up, but apparently I missed some), papers towels, napkins, ect. I'm trying to teach him whats edible and whats not, but he doesn't know quite yet...
12. I can't bring myself to watch the video either. How heartless and cruel can a person possibly be? He needs to be punished for what he did, definetly. Its so sad how people can be so low as to do something like this.
13. I would say that you stayed very calm in that situation. I would have been sreamin' at the guy. But my question is, how could someone who owned a dog be that way? Pretty bad owner if you ask me...
14. Sorry, that post came through twice.
15. Here is a picture of Takona. Shes a lot darker in it than she really is, but its the best one I have...

17. I mentioned chaining her to my Mom... she's pretty much completly against it. She thinks that all she will do is bark if she has to be tied up. We do already have a chain type thing set-up in our yard. I'll see if I can convince my Mom to use that for her. :fadein:
18. My Moms dog Takona is a husky/lab mix. She's lived with us about five years, and is about six years old. She does have a major problem though... she will NOT stay in our yard. We live in a semi remote area, and theres not a whole lot of traffic, but, it still is a danger for her to head out by the road, which she does extremly often, almost every day. She doesn't listen what-so-ever, and puts herself in major danger all of the time. Just yesterday she ran out across the road, and cars were having to slow down/stop for her. :o I was hoping someone could give me some ways to stop this bad habit, and hopfully get her to stay within the bounderies of our home. Thanks to any help.
19. Hmmm... One thing I HATE about those charts, is that they always describe the ideal as "Abdominal tuck evident". Though, right in the AKC Labrador retriever standard it says that lab's... "underline is almost straight, with little or no tuck-up in mature animals". What about if you happen to own a pure-bred lab? Those charts are going to make you think your dog is overweight when its not, and some people may make their dogs anorexic!  Sorry, I had to get that out. But I do think that those charts should have some kind of note at the top, mentioning that factor that some dogs are SUPOSE to have straight "underlines".
20. OMG!!! :o Half those aren't even real breeds. They don't look very spunky and playful like healthy and happy puppies hould either. Pet stores are RIDICULOUS. "We are the best! We never treat our puppies badly!". Isn't that what they all say? It makes me angry just thinking about how you could open a place like that. Ugh! :x
21. 17 or 18?! :o That is unbelieveble!! :x I tried to volunteer at my shelter a few years ago (I think I was eight or nine), and if I would have actually gone ahead and started going there and helping out, I would have NEVER been so irrisponsible. It's very sad that someone that age can be so moronic.

24. Poor thing... Hope Dahlila's feeling OK now.
25.
I didn't dilberately had him on off-leash near a road so he could get killed.Beinging 15 has nothing to do with responsibility, this could of happen to anyone.quote] :o It could happen to anyone you say? The fact that you said that proves to show how irrisponsible and ignorant you REALLY are. I'm more than happy your deciding to leave dogomania. I don't need to hear stories about all of your new dogs dying... :x
