1.

But why do you think they have any worse allergies than any other dog?
Maybe its just me, but, it seems they have tiny little hairs that creep into your nostrils and eyes. Maybe I just have this problem. The owners say that the Dobie hair gets into the furniture, not just on it. It actually makes its way into the fibers of the couch and clothes and bedding. They say its also hard to get up when cleaning. Unlike other breeds the hair seems to take over and creep into every thing it can. Course, I don't have a Dobe so I don't know. This is just what I heard from my friends. And also what I experienced when visiting.
This has not been my experience with the breed  Most boxers I know have a more kind of coat that you are describing than the dobes I have had in my home. Also yes they can have allergies but of the dogs that I know I dont remember one dog that does have allergies, my dog isn't allergic to anything I have found as of yet :grins: On the other hand I would not recomend a dobermann as a dog for a "novice" dogowner, they are not the easiest breed, they can be somewhat headstrong and dominant.
  2. We were very carefull off course  We only set upp basic jumps, tunnels and tables just to have some fun :)
  3. Last week there was some problem with the electrisity in our training area, so we had no light...... Well that didn't stop us, we just ligned upp two cars and turned on the lights and voila, agility in the dark (well not totally dark but somewhat  )

congratulations Webby :kciuki: , and its true, its totally addicting
  5. ooo thats wonderfull and good luck with that, remember we need to be kept updated :) Tell me, how much does it cost to take part in a obedience competition ? I was just thinking of registering one of my dogs in a ob. comp. but the cost is rather high :-?
  6. Actually, I see a lot of dobermann in here, escpecialy here head. The ears seem longer than the dobies, but uncropped dobies have "strange ears" a lot of the time but her's do look houndish I say houndXdobie mix
  7. Wow what a great ending to a sad story, she is very lucky she has you
  8. My dogs stay inside during the day if they are home alone. I don't have a escape proof fenced in yard (it is fenced but if they wanted to they could find a way out). Also it isn't "traditional" here to leave dogs outside when they are home alone. It can also get really really cold here (even in the summer). Neither of my dog is crated, they get the run of the apartment (minus the bedroom) and I leave the radio on. The next dog that I will have (some day later) will be crate trained, and left in the crate during the day until he/she can be trusted loose with the other.

    dog show gtooming

What I do with my dobe is just a bathe and some mink oil, usually a do the bathe the day before the show and the mink oil on the same day. Also make sure that here toenails are cut and short. Are you showing in AKC shows you might need to do a litle bit more grooming but this is what I do and I show in FCI shows. Also Sizzledog knows more about showing dobers in america, just hope she sees this thread :)
  10. :laola: Welcome back Tabatha
  11. You can also teach him to jump trough you arms (have them as a ring or tire), weave through your legs or something. I am so not surpried though that you love agility
  12.
PS: May the person who left these poor pups to die embark on a long car trip into the canadian wilderness, run out of gas, and his death becomes a competition between starvation, exposure, lack of water, blackflies, and being sodomized by bears.

Now now Eric...credit the poor bears with a bit more taste please! icon_confused.gif

But but but DF!!! theres two of you...with 2 arms each right???...thats 2 more leads you can hold!!...off you go!
Guys, this is the reason I love this board, where else do you get comments like these  I am to in the prosess of thinking of a #3, but for some reason, my hubby doesn't love the idea (well i'ts not like it would happen tomorow.... sadly) I think I might try the more dogs more happy thing  I might also try to point aout that the dog he wanted (dobie) is much bigger than the dog I had prewiusly (sp?) so I can get a third dog to make upp the difference right :hmmmm: But I say congrats with the new pup, and we need piccies 8)
