1.
Congrats! Hope you ARE able to get a pup/dog. That said, I think A Border Collie would be the WORST possible choice. Since the breed really doesn't seem to matter that much, how about checking at the shelters?
Well, in Sweden there is only one dog shelter, and they handle only about 400 dogs every year, most of them which are just lost. And there are more people willing to adopt than there are dogs. Also, they don't let you choose your own dog. Some dogs I just can't "connect" to somehow, I can't bond with them as strongly as with some others. And so I want to be able to choose my own too. :)
2. Hmm.... Most of my favorite breeds do tend to have high activity levels... Malteses do seem nice Sanvean, but I want a bigger dog that can go running with me, and stuff like that. I don't think I want a dog any smaller than an english cocker spaniel, like Birk was. I'd be staying home from school the first week or so that I had the puppy, so I wouldn't have that problem HazelNutMeg. :) How about a golden retreiver, flatcoated retreiver or a labrador? I know alot of people living where I do have them, and they seem happy and all. And I love those breeds too. I know theres a poodle living in the building next to my one, and it seems happy and in shape too. And I've seen collies around too... But I don't know. And just because other people do it doesn't mean I can do it. I really have to do lots of research, maybe call the dog trainer and ask their oppion, stuff like that. What are some other good ways of giving excersize for dogs?
3. Well, I'm pretty sure! :) My mom is saying that she WANTS a dog again!!! So in a month or so we are probably going to get a puppy!!!! :D :jumpie:  :loveu: :Dog_run: :iloveyou: :B-fly::) Anyway, now we're discussing it and trying to figure out how to do it. Maybe an older dog would be better for us, but neither one of us wants to have the possibility of having another Birk like thing happen. So we are going to get a puppy. If we DO get a dog... Which I THINK we will! I am getting some contact with my father again now, and he loves dogs and knows lots about them, so he might be able to come during the day once or twice and take the pup out for a walk and play some with it. We also know some other people who might be able to help too. We need to ask them. I think the perfect time to get a puppy would be like now, or next week, because then I have a week off school, and after that 2 weeks prao at a doggy daycare, and probably I could bring the puppy then. But my mom doesn't want to do that. Skipping the techinical part of it all, what breed/breed mix should we look for, do you have any suggestions? The most important things we need are that 1. the dog is very trainable, 2. Will not always try to get the guinea pigs, 3. People oriented and very affectionate 4. Can be happy in an appartment 5. Is not prone to too many health problems. The breed I would like to get teh most is a border collie, but I don't know if it could be happy in an appartment. I would eventually like to train Agility, and obedience. The dog would get about 2 hours of walks and running loose time every day. Once a week it would accompany me around when I bring advertisments to a bunch of houses and appartment buildings around where I live, which takes several hours. Thats how the excersize bit would be, about. Othe breeds I was thinking of were poodles and collies. What do you think of that? What breed do you think would fit? I do not want a terrier or toy dog. :) I'm trying hard to controll my excitment incase it doesnt work out, or if it takes ages for it to work out. But this is the best thing that could possibly happen to me!!!! :D :D

9.   Tizzy responds to the name "idiot" which my brother calls him affectionatly. :o :)
10. :x Today out of all days I feel rotten! I have a stupid sore throat and headache, and its just gotten worse since the morning! :x I don't want to go outside when I feel like this... :( I'll light a candle inside instead, and maybe put one on the balcony. It won't be the same, since no one will know what its for :( . Maybe tomorrow I can make it up and go outside, even if its a day late..
11. Ooh, thats exciting! :D Congratulations! :)
12. Sound almost exactly like when I first got Russkit. Tizzy would go beserk when I picked Russkits up to cuddle him. But after a week or two Tizzy was sure Russkit wasn't going to dissapear forever, and now he is grateful for a few minutes of rest! :o Little One is ALWAYS running around! :) I don't know if its the same for guinea pigs or dogs not though... :-?
13. German Shepherd! :) German Shepherd No bones, about it, you're a loyal, hard-working German Shepherd. Dedicated and always low-maintenance, people flock to you — they know they can count on you to get any job done, and done well. That focus and attention to detail spans from your personal to your professional life, too. Although you can be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the projects you tackle, you still manage to keep cool and laid-back in social situations. You get a kick out of the little things and thrive when you're constantly busy and on-the-go. Easygoing and unpretentious, you don't need constant pampering and reassurance. A genuine, carefree pup, you're a true-blue friend, employee, and partner. Woof!
14.  Those evil evil people! :x Poor dogs.
15. Samoyeds are wonderful dogs! :)
16. I'm done!! :D Thanks to you guys and all the information I got, I was able to write 3 and a half pages of text, adn have 3 and a half pages of pictures! :) This project was only supposed to be a paragraph long... :o Well, my teacher better not complain! :x  Thanks for all the help I've gotten! :)
17. Thank you so much! :) I feel overwhelmed almost  ... With all this information I'll have to do a good job! :)
18. For English in school now we're learing about argumentative writing, and have to write a short report (or whatever) about something controversial, or something. I'm going to do about Breed Specific Legislation ( I think thats what its called... but I'm not sure  ). So anyway, I was wondering if someone could help me with a few questions I have. I'm going to search for the answers myself too, but I'm terrible at finding things  . 1. Where can I find the dog bite statistics, or what are they? 2. What breeds do this concern? What breeds do people want banned? 3. How do these breeds help people? (like if they're police dogs, etc.) 4. Which shelters put to sleep pit bulls and pit bull mixes just because of the breed they are/have in them? How do these shelters reson that? 5. What was that about a pomerian or something that killed a kid? 6. Which dogs were considered "bad" and "vicious" before? 7. What are some really dumb articles about it that idot reporters have written? (I want to quote some to show how rediculace (sp?) it can be) 8. What breeds are already banned in what places? Have the number of dog bites gone down in those areas? 9. Where are those scores for some test where pit bulls were among the top? It was some test to see how the dogs would react to different things. I think. 10. What is the intelligence level of a dog about, in human years? I think I read it in some book... but I cna't remember. 11. In a book about pit bulls I borrowed from the library this summer, it started out with a story type thing. A kid was playing in a sandbox or something, and then a pit bull came running straight at the kid, and killed teh rattlesnake that was just about to bite the kid. And then it said how if it were a labrador or something, most everyone would assume it was going to do something brave or something, but since it was a pitbull lots of people assumed it was going to bite the kid. Does anyone know that story more in detail? 12. Could someone who has one of the dog breeds that this concerns write something that I could quote? Thanks for any help! :)
19. Just saw the pictures now! She is so adorable! Poor ben...
