Okay I'm going to be a smarty pants now because Ellie and Rio have passed this test and I have their certificates on my wall !! This is the bronze test there is also a silver and a gold,Ellie has passed silver too.

Hi Yes I did do some clicker training with Ellie and she enjoyed it. I work as a trainee instructor at a training club and occasionally I will teach people how to use the clicker method if they want to learn or if I think it will benefit the dog in question. I think it's a good tool for some dogs and usually if I recommend it it will be for dogs who find it hard to keep their attention on their owner when training.

Ellie was spayed 3 months after her first season on my vets advice. Something to bear in mind Jen is that she is a teenager in doggy terms and like a teenager she will test you for a while ,if you remain firm with her during this time you will come through the other side ok :) I have seen otherwise very obedient dogs completely 'forget' their training during this period in their development don't panic,stay consistent and you'll be fine xx

I had this problem with Ellie and I like you tried every trick in the book !! In the end the thing that worked for me was the remote spray collar which is operated by a handset luckily I have a neighbour who I can trust with the handset and the signal works through the wall so I left the controller with him when I went out so that he could trigger it when she barked and it worked brilliantly. The one that I have is called a Masterplus and the canister can hold air and water,citronella or mustard.

They didn't have my breeds either Marion :cry: The others were lovely though :)

That is so sad I'll have to go and have a doggy snuggle now. Be comforted in the knowledge that our pooches will never have to feel like that.

No I've never been able to understand it either especially the working breeds,they couldn't do the job they were designed for half the time because their coats are so ridiculous !! :lol:

Oh Jackie I hope everything settles down with him ! There is a weimaraner rescue who may be able to help if you need to re-home him but I hope it won't come to that :(

Hi everyone just a quickie to say well done to my kid sister Lannie (snowpaws) !!!!!!!!!!!! She and Kodi picked up their first rosette on sunday !! She wasn't placed in best puppy (breed) which is criminal ! :evil: But she got a 1st in best condition long coat !!!!! Pretty good seeing as she's training to be a groomer !!! Hi I think Nancy B said it all !!! Just to add I would always have a dog neutered unless I wanted to show him in breed shows. To be honest with mine I never gave it a second thought !
