1. Some times when I want to nap, my kids will tell me they want to go outside (even though I know they don't need to go to the bathroom yet), so I tell them to go lie down because i want to sleep longer. They give me a big sigh and go over to their respective napping spots until I tell them they can go outside. I have a fenced yard, so if I just want to watch t.v., I can do that in the kitchen while they're in the back yard.
2. I would have had Death By Chocolate but didn't have time.
3. When I've watched Cesar on Animal Planet, his methods are mostly just common sense (for people who have common dog sense). I like him.
4. When I left Texas, my plane was an hour late, so I had a chicken caesar salad at Bennigan's (that was right next to my gate). Yummy!
5. Well, when I got home from work Wednesday night (my first day back to work), Pooh Bear had pooped on the futon again. But I think he had eaten most of it (Greenie poop -- yummy) because there wasn't too much. I don't think they were sure I was coming back last night. Hopefully they know that I'm home to stay now (they don't know yet that I'm leaving again the end of next week -- shhhhhh), so hopefully there won't be any futon presents tonight.
6. Even though Pooh Bear has eaten my furniture and pooped on my futon and got the neighbors mad at me about his barking, I just absolutely love that little shit (pardon the pun). Like I told Kat, he's a wonderfully well-behaved pupper about 90% of the time. Once I get home from work tonight, I'll see if that percentage goes down. :-?
7. All three of my puppers (who came from the same no-kill shelter) were each $100. That's a pretty average adoption fee from that shelter, although they did have the two Landseers that they were asking $500 adoption fee for. I just checked, and now "my" shelter has a little of Standard Poodles puppies with a $425 adoption fee each.
8. Poor puppies, they just never had a chance. RIP little pups. I'm glad Spice is okay.
9. Almost every day I was gone to Texas Pooh Bear pooped on the futon. The dog sitter washed the futon quilt every day. One day while I was gone he pooped AND peed on it. And when I got home tonight, he had pooped and peed on the futon. I suppose it was the combination of me being gone for almost a week along with being on a different schedule than normal that threw him off. Hopefully now that I'm back and they'll be back on their nightowl schedule the inside pooping will stop. Unfortunately I'll be leaving again the end of next week to go to Las Vegas and Los Angeles, but I'll only be gone for four days on that trip. And one time Maya got out without her harness, but the dog sitter ran after her and caught her before she was able to get over the fence. I told her that I ALWAYS let the dogs out in the same order, one at a time: Maya first (so I can get her harness on), then Pooh Bear, then Jackie. She said that Pooh Bear was jumping around and wanting to go out so she let him go outside out of turn. And one time Maya saw her opportunity for escape and took it, but the sitter was able to catch her. When I told her the reason for the turn-out routine, she said that that made sense. She won't make that mistake again. It's great being back home with my babies. I missed them terribly while I was gone.
10. Yay Leah! He's so cute, and I know you'll give him a great start to the rest of his life.
11. I really wish someone else had kept her dog; she would have had a better life. Poor thing.
12. Yep, the owner was an idiot! My three are extremely friendly, but I won't let them just go up to other dogs to say hi. I can take all three in there with me and they are very well-behaved. If you can't control your dog, you shouldn't bring him into Petsmart! And I agree that if the dog was aggressive to other dogs, put a fucking muzzle on the dog!
13. Do most dogs like Innova? I checked out their website, and they have a large breed dry food with glucosamine and chondroitan in it. And there are several stores in my area who carry it. I'm thinking of making the switch from Science Diet Light Large Breed.
14. I'm so glad your Mac is home! What a handsome boy he is!
15. Congratulations to both of you! That sounds like so much fun! I've gone off course when I've shown my horse in jumper classes too.
16. I use Nutri-vet Hip & Joint chewable tablets. I think I got it at Petsmart. It says to give 1/2 tablet per 40 pounds of body weight daily. I give Pooh Bear and Maya one a day. Jackie won't eat them. But they all eat Light Large breed dog food that has glucosamine in it.
17. Owie! Glad it wasn't worse!
18. Maya and Pooh Bear are fine about getting their nails clipped, but Jackie thinks it's pure torture. It takes one or two people to hold her and she makes alien sounds. Although last time she was much better. I have my vet do it.
19. That's just awesome, Kat! I can't wait to meet you and Shannon and Kes and Angie and Kat!
20.
When one of the rats bit anothers tail I made one out of cardboard.
You made a cardboard tail? Kewl! :drinking:
21. Even though all three of my dogs are microchipped, I keep collars and tags on them all of the time. I figure that if something happened and they happened to get out (or if there was an emergency and someone had to break in), I want them to have their collar and tags on.
22. One time on Emergency Vets (on Animal Planet), they had to make an e-collar for some small animal, maybe a ferret? They just cut a piece of x-ray paper and puched little holes around the small part and put some type of tie thingie through that. If you have some real stiff paper, or like a file folder, you could probably cut something to fit.
23. They also said on the puppies' webpages that they don't ship dogs under any circumstances, and that they will do random checks on the dogs for 2 years.
24.
 You better stop looking J.M......you're torturing yourself !!!
I don't know why I keep looking! I should have that site blocked! LOL
Great looking dogs. Why such a high adoption fee?
I suppose because they're a pretty rare breed around here.
25.
NO, I didn't think you were too old (I don't know that you'll be the oldest person there) ...
That distinction probably belongs to me! :drinking:
