courtnek Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 I'm warming it up now. its already stained my fingers but y'know? I dont care. the poor girl is suffering. I dont care about the furniture or floors, or walls...I just want her to get better... Quote
courtnek Posted October 4, 2004 Author Posted October 4, 2004 should I still air out her ears, or no? I am airing them out now. If I shouldnt, please let me know.... Quote
Horsefeathers! Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 If it were me, I think I would let them air out, anyway, once she's done with shaking/swabbing the excess out. I don't see what it could hurt. Poor girl. I hope this is the ticket to get her some relief. Quote
courtnek Posted October 6, 2004 Author Posted October 6, 2004 THIS STUFF IS AMAZING!! I dont know if its because I am also forcing her to wear the pantyhose (she hates me, I know it) but there is a lot less gunk in her ears, she is shaking her head less, scratching her eyes less (and whining when it didnt work) The gunk thats left is down pretty deep, and comes up with two or thre tissues. Before, it was 6 to 8, to get is out. She seems to know that this is helping her. While she doesnt like it, she doesnt run away, or fight. She allowed me to put the pantyhose on with no issues, a first. I usually have to lock her in with my knees to get them on. once on she allows me to sit themcorrectly, but would fight till they were on. THANK YOU ALL for telling me about this. Her ears are much less red, she seems more comfortable now. One ear (the not-so-bad one) is almost back to normal color. The other one is much less angry red than it was. Who would have thought roach killer would soothe so much. laugh at me, go ahead. I was afraid of using it....         my girl is getting better, that's all that matters!! Quote
BuddysMom Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I'm sorry I was also contributing to that fear! Given the ringing endorsements I would use that recipe if needed for sure! Still not sure that I'd use the Borax straight but in this recipe it seems to be tried and true. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 I just now found this thread and I wanted to say goodjob on being a good mama and I am glad things are getting better. I have a staffy, which normally do not tend to have ear problems, but I use a product you can more than likely get at your vets or order online called OtiRinse once or twice every two weeks. I have never had any problems with any type of infection or wax buildup so maybe in the future you can look into this as it does not stain anything and you do not have to mix anything. Quote
Horsefeathers! Posted October 6, 2004 Posted October 6, 2004 Told ya! :P Seriously, I hope it does the trick. I suppose it's one of those things that if it didn't help, it couldn't hurt. I'm glad she seems to be feeling better, hose and all. Quote
