i saw this dog on television and it had to be the most gorgeous dog i have ever seen...but i am not sure of the breed. it might be a border collie...but in the pictures of them i have seen on the web, they are all black and white. this dog i saw had reddish-brown fur, about as long as a border collie's fur and the dog itself was the same size as a border collie. also, it had almost white eyes, i dont know if they were really light green or blue, but the were beautiful.

so if anyone knows exactly what breed this is...maybe you could post a link to some pictures for me...i would very much appreciate it, thanks so much!

Border Collies can be black and white, brown and white or tricolour. They might also be all black, all brown or all white but that might be a fault or have related health concerns - not sure. The brown might look red/brown.
The dog you saw might have been a Brittany Spaniel - see http://www.akc.org/breeds/recbreeds/brittany.cfm or http://animal.discovery.com/guides/dogs/selector/profile.jsp?id=1630 or an Australian Shepherd of unusual colour - see http://www.akc.org/breeds/recbreeds/ausshep.cfm or http://animal.discovery.com/guides/dogs/selector/profile.jsp?id=1020 please bear in mind there are concerns with Australian Shepherds with unusual colouring and blindness and/or deafness please research if you are planning on getting one. There is someone here who knows more about it, post a thread about Australian Shepherds and Blindness or Deafness or maybe double merle? if you need more info.

Or a Nova Scotia Duck tolling Retreiver??? Their a light redish brown and have the same sort of coat as a BC, and I think the same size, and I'm pretty sure their eyes are usually light colored...

Did the dog have any white on it? Or any other colors? Did it have a tail? If no tail then it's more likly an Aussie...

Most Red Border Collies (like the one I had, but she was part Aussie  ) have white on their bellies and feet, and chest, and somtimes snout.

This is about all I found....

Liver colored border collie...

If this isn't what it looked like then I also think its a Toller. (Nova Scotia Duck tolling Retreiver or NSDTR)

This is Ace, one of the dogs that is in our dog club and one of the doggies that Meg hangs with. He is Red and white, not brown and white. I have loads of pics of various red and white, chocolate and whites that I know but i'm still in Netherlands on my BF's computer so I will try remember to get them off my hard drive when i get back.

My next BC I would like to be a chocolate red tri colour. Stunning colours but very rare.
