I want to know is it possible for a pure bred pit to born hairy and then later shed the hair?

Why would you want a hairy pit puppy that sheds its hair? :-?
LOL, sorry but I can't help but laugh!!! A hairy pit puppy!!! Hehe, cute
Are there any breeds that are born fluffy then shed to have a short coat?

Reminds me of K's old sig:

"Is it a furry pit?"

Nope, all pit puppies are born shorthaired. Don't have the "puppy fur". Did you find one? Do you have a pic? It should be a mix... maybe a genetic defect? Noobody thought that dogs could be hairless until some genetic defect that got them hairless. :niewiem:

But is there such a thing as any breed that is born fluffy and sheds to have a short coat? I don't think there is, so until that mutation spontaniusly pops up out of no where and is selectivly bred from for many generations it couldn't be possible. Then to put that gene into a Pit would be even further work, so I doubt it could be possible for thousands of years any way, even if the gene did pop up, which is very unlikely in itself.
Although if you like there are many rescue dogs out there who were born hairy, got allergys, lost their hair and ended up in the shelters due to owners who only want a "beautuful, allergy free dog", if that helps at all!!! :o
