Guest Anonymous
Ok We got Cody when he was 11 weeks old, he was neutured the day we brought him home.. Zoey is spayed and has been since we got her also.. Just in th last month Cody has started to hump Zoey all the time. :o It seems that is all they do. I thought since both were fixed that would fix the problems of humping.. but he was fixed 4 months ago... does it ever stop? is he just doing it alot right now becuase he's getting to that age? courtnek
:) yea, it stops - they go through puberty, fixed or not. Also, it might be a dominance thing. Mounting is not always sexual, he may just be claiming the spot as "top dpg" amongst the dogs....
Aroura
Haha, you've got the same problem as me!!! Lily hasn't picked up the habit, I've seen her do it maybe once or twice, Tessa just can't seem to help herself sometimes though!!! She's five years old now, so didn't loose the habit. My best advice is to just laugh it off, its not harming anyone
AussieLover
Heck Dakota my 5 month old Aussie, won't bother me with the humping thing, but when he is around my husband he humps my husband like crazy so my hubby will just hip bump him as if to play with him and he stops. But it is very funny to watch!!
DogPaddle
From the age of 6 months too 18 months Kavik was fond of this activity amongst the other dogs. He has only stopped for about two months and now Zaphod has become enamoured of the behaviour. Oh well only a year to go and I don't have to be embarrassed in front of company.
