I have been to the vet with Gladis. She is not having puppies she is booked in 27 november to be spayed. She will be half way between first and second season. My vet is aware early spaying goes on but he would not do it on a pure bred dog. The risk of anaesthetic on a puppy of 8/10 weeks old. There is only a small increased rise of cancer Waiting untill later. After the first season the organs are their full size so the risk of incontinence later in life reduces. He did understand in the shelter situation the reasons for the dogs being spayed early.
