anne3149 Posted October 13, 2002 Posted October 13, 2002 I guess the moral of this story is don't get a dog unless you have a forever home yourself. One of my sons left home for a short period of time and bought a Rottweiler pup. After the housing arrangements fell through the dog was then brought to me and I already had 3 dogs. The Rottweiler was the most beautiful dog I have ever had BUT he should not have bought this dog because he could not give it a forever home. Everyone in my family learned from this and none of the other children have bought a dog until they owned a house. Renting is often a very temporary situation. Many dogs end up in shelters because their owners can not keep them in renting situations. Aurora is lucky her Mother came to the rescue. Quote
Aroura Posted October 14, 2002 Author Posted October 14, 2002 I may renting but I would never go anywhere without my dogs. I wouldn't have bought the dog if I wasn't 100% sure I could keep it!!! I would never dump them on someone else either, my dogs may not have been allowed in the house, but at least they were with me. I still take care of them, pay for their food, vet bills etc. Me and dad will be moving out somewhere soon, so she will be allowed back in the house shortly anyway Quote
anne3149 Posted October 14, 2002 Posted October 14, 2002 Aroura, I have no doubt you love your dogs. You show that in every post but it is always a dicey situation renting with dogs. Some landlords have a no animal clause in their lease. What a pity Dad is moving away from the family home. I wish you all the best of luck and hope all goes well for you and your beloved dogs. Quote
