1. Fox Red is just a variation of yellow labs. My aunt has a fox red lab
2. Sorry they won't let you adopt. As much as I support rescues, they sure do make it impossible to adopt a dog, and then they complain about not having enough homes!! My friend wanted to adopt another pitty, but they turnred her down because she already had one pitty :o . umm, helloooooo, wouldn't that show you that she is a GOOD pitty owner!!! I just don't get rescues sometimes. When ya get fed up with rescues, try a shelter, they are less demanding on adoption policys...
3. yea. when they are bein bad, i ask em "do you want a whoopin" but it's not a in mean voice or anything, lol, and they don't respond lol
4. I think it depends on the area you live in. We live in a town where you never hear of dogs mauling people or anything, i mean there was one years ago, but that's it. So when we got insurance they didn't even care to ask what breeds we had... :D
5.
Congrats on your decision..I hope you find what you are looking for!!!are you going through rescue? Have you considered a Dosa?...I MUST have one ...or two  edited to add super gorgeous foto!
I wanna dosa too!!!!!!!!
6. a friend came across "angus" and gave me the link cause he thought it was eli's brother or something.. I DID email dogster and this is what i got back  so i replyed back and gave them pics of my bed(that "angus" is sitting on) more pics of eli wearing his green collar, another pic of eli chewing that bone, and a pic of the basketball you see in the background in the las pic on "angus's" page Tracy, Your e-mail claims the pics are stolen, but there are no duplicate pictures and the physical surroundings seem different. To my admittedly, untrained eye, Elijah and Angus look to be very similar, but different dogs with remarkably close markings. Angus' pics reveal a bit more pink around the nose/jaw area and there also appears to be more dark speckles about the nose/jaw. Until this matter is resolved, I have hidden your diary page where you made public accusations. While Dogster is not liable for claims and accusations made by dog owners against other Dogster owners/members, the person who wrote those accusations very well could be. So for your own protection the diary is hidden. You may, of course, make it public again, but getting all the facts squared away first is in your best interest. Truth has a way of finding its way to the surface. And truth is the best defense for any claims being made. I have passed your concerns along to Top Dog for his recommendation on the next step to take. -dogster-
7. Some freak stole Eli's pics and is trying to say it's his dog :x http://www.dogster.com/pet_page.php?i=72459&n=2336&p=23454
8. Yes he's a Great Dane. and he is about 5-6 years old, maybe a lil younger. but no younger than 4 years, I remember when they got him as a puppy but I cant remember exactly how long ago that was... I have a dane rescue that will take him but I dont have the gas money to get him there. i also have another person willing to adopt him(and she already has 2 spoiled danes) but again i dont have the gas money. The shelter is a kill shelter, but they give all dogs a chance(unless the dog is very agressive or so sick it can't be helped), and sometimes even give dogs a 2nd or 3rd chance... I am pretty sure this guy has his shots, cause the lil ring thing that you attack the tags to the collar with, ya know, that metal hook thing, lol, is there, but it looks like the tags got ripped off somehow.....
9. Found this guy in my yard yesterday afternoon. I know the owners, so I tried going over there but they weren't home. So i am keeping him in our backyard for now.. He's quite thin as you can see, and he has some sort of problem with his back legs, he doesn't walk straight 99% of the time. It might be poor nutrition, but who knows. I am taking him to the local shelter tomorrow morning before I go to school. I have some people who want to adopt him though, so I am going to make sure the shelter knows that to call me when his "time is up" I am almost positive that his owners won't go looking for him, and I hope they dont. They neglect this dog so bad, they leave him outside 24/7 and never pay any attention to him, and he is soo itchy from fleas, the poor guy. They feed him Ol Roy dog food(bag was on the ground) but they obviously dont feed him enough, either that or the Ol Roy dog food is so crappy the dog just isn't getting enough nutrition, ya know? Anywayz, he's extremely sweet. He is neutered(shockingly), and he knows sit. He was originally their sons dog, and he took great care of him. but then he moved out or something and the parents just neglect the dog here are some pics of him
10. standard poodle and giant schnauzer. they dont quite reach 100lbs, but they are the only large/non allergenic dogs I can think of and find.. but both of them require monthly/bi monthly clipping. golden retriever would drive a person nuts if they have dog allergies lol.
11. Try to stay away fom the foods at grocery stores. like purina, pedigree, iams, alpo, etc. but if grocery store food is the only thing you have access too, i reccommend Maxximum Nutrition. but see if someone in your town/city sells a good food like innova, wellness, chicken soup for the dog lovers soul, pinnacle, etc. they do cost more, but you feed less, and it is MUCH better for your dog than food like purina and pedigree. here is a list of some of the best foods.. 12. Not all breeders breed the slant backed GSD's, wich is good. There are some who have completely normal GSD's :)
13. Have you seen the "shiloh shepherds" that are advertisied today :o
14. Thanx! I did do bathing when I worked at a vet clinic I bathed the dogs and then he shaved them or whatever they needed. I bathed everything from matted, flea infested, feces in their coat poodles, to big huge newfoundlands lol. I'll call some groomers :)
15. this is what a GSD should look like. but as you can tell good ole breeders have basically ruined them
16. GSD's these days make me so sad. Just looking at them makes me want to cry.
17. Mods can move this if it's not in the right spot :P lol Ok. I've decided I want to be a professional dog groomer, and maybe even own my own shop.. I love grooming dogs, i've only groomed my girl keesha, my grandparents poodle, and another dog(shih tzu poodle mix i think) but I love doing it, and everyone has said I do a good job. I know you have to go to school and get a license, right? Where would I begin to look for a grooming school? Anybody here who has gone to grooming school? Can you tell me about it? Any information is greatly appreciated!! :D
18. I took Barkley to the vet this morning around 8 am. They took him and told me the doctor wouldn't be in for about an hour but they would get to him right away. I picked him up after school today.. He has about 9-8 stiches and is now amoxicillan pill twice a day. He was still pretty doped up when I picked him up, poor guy. He has a cone on of course, but he doesn't seem to mind it much. I thought about staying home this morning but decided against it.. but i probably should have cause I was a nervous wreck the whole day and I must have looked it cause everyone kept asking if I was ok... Reading "the man who speaks to dogs" didn't help any..lol.. boy does me know how to make me feal horrible too...everytime I go out the backdoor he stands there right in front of it and I forget and when I come back in I end up hitting him with the door :(
19. :o 4 litters a year is outrageous! a reputable breeder should only produce 1-2 litters a year, but most produce one every 2 or so years.. JMO though
20. look at eli's muscles :) all i do is walk him..
21. OMG as i was putting barkley in his crate for the night I saw him limping! Wich really shocked me cause he was playing earlier and when I brought him inside he was just fine! so i pulled him out of the crate thinkin he might have something in his paw or something, but he has this big gash right in his thigh!! I'll have to take him to the vet in the morning before I go to school
22. lol sorry, got the two names mixed up
23. I meant the statement about weights as a general statement to anyone who is wanting to increase their dogs muscle. :D
24. i have 4 females(3 mutts and a black lab) and they have gotten along fine since day one. shadow tried to challenge maggie once but maggie put her in her place. I think it all just depends on the dog.
