1. awesome job! it looks nice...coal is one cutie pie! :D
2. Gosh, if my parents every took my computer away from me- I don't know what I would do! I always spend so much time on it late at night, I would go crazy without it. I can't wait until I am 18 (one more year) and able to move out and go to college...ahhh, more freedom. :D
3.
Labs are part goldfish - they will eat till they burst!! LOL
ah ha! that is the truth. And so are rotties. and guess what? my boy is a rottweiler/lab mix...boy can he EAT! holy cow. and labs are smart...tooo :D
4. ahhh! beautiful babies, you have there! :D
5. cool! great job, everyone. Photoshop is so fun to fool around with, so many neat things :D
6. ohhhhh my gosh! what a face!!! ahhh, a beauty indeed!!! :D
7. Quietness means nothing but trouble!!!! I know Landon by heart...if he is quiet, there is definitely something wrong.
8. Absolutely not! Some men murder, that does not make them all murderers. It just happens that the media likes to ruin the reputation of the Pitt Bull and the rottweiler, and they do a good job. The impression people give you when you mention that your dog is a rottweiler or rottie mix...my oh my, like "why would you ever own such an aggressive dog." No. Rotties remind me of labs in rottie clothing, they are big babies and wonderful creatures! The thing is, they are not dogs for everyone. Not every home is right for a rottweiler, especially those who are uneducated about the breed and do not know how to trian their dog. I have a rottie/lab mix who is the sweetest thing on earth, he is a big bundle of joy full of happiness and love...and he has never ever tried to snap at anyone. But, he has tried to kiss some people to death...I must say he is innocent of that 8) The rottweiler is an amazing breed, that takes special training, care, love, time, and patience. The manner in which the dog is raised, the environment in which it is raised, and the reason for why it was trained all effect the dog's temperment, even so the lines that they came from and the temperment of their parents. Many people take Pitts and Rotties and us them as "guard", or shall we say "attack", dogs...they try to make themselves look big and mighty by walking around with, what most people think of, as a 'scary' looking dog. They ruin the image of the breed, because most of them are young teenagers or in their early 20's who do not know how to care for such a breed, who do not know the training that is necessary, and who raise the dog to be nothing but harmful. I would never ever describe a rottweiler as dangerous or aggressive, they are anything but that! It is people who take breeds and give them such a "bad" image, owners are the most dangerous things to dogs. And just as any dog can be trained to be as loving as possible and as well behaved as possible, humans can take a dog and make it the opposite.
9. :D :D :D A nice happy beginning to a journey ahead with a splendid dog!! I have thought about it for a long time, heard several reasons, and have come to the conclusion that there is absolutely no excuse to drop your dog or any other animal off at a shelter- when it comes down to it, it is usually because of the faults of the human. such as, not knowing what they are getting into- thinking a dog is as easy to care for as a fish- not knowing anything about the breed they are getting or the temperment of a dog, or that the dog needs training, time, love, and care- and yadda yadda yadda. uneducated people. ugh.
10. well thanks everyone!!! Debbie- cool, I would love to see a picture of Gretchen!! Landon's my hunk, my precious baby boy! I can't believe how fast he is growing though- holy crap. He has muscles too, ha...I remember the first time he dragged me through the yard...I was just walking him around, doing a little training...and what do you know, he spots a ground hog and decides he wants to play with it- without even asking me! ahhhhhh that was one heck of a walk. *sitting* *staying* ick...I don't like chicken flavored bones. can I have another treat? dove dark chocolate...mmmm! thanks for all the nice comments about my babies! I won't tell Landon that you all think he is cute, don't want his head getting too big;)
11. Oh wow! that is scary. I hate when incidents like this happen, because I know they can be prevented...and that there is some underlying problem that caused the dog to do such a thing- I don't think it is a dog's natural instinct if it has been raised and trained properly. It is sad for the victims of such incidents, how horrible. But, one thing I really hate is how incidents such as this give dogs like Rottweilers and Pit Bulls really bad names- and when people think of those two breeds they get the idea of aggressive dogs. I know many rottweilers and many pitts who are nothing but big babies, and they are so innocent! I could never imagine them biting anyone, they are just too sweet and so well behaved- but a lot of love, time, and patience was put into it to make them behave that way. Those two breeds are not for everyone, and some people do not understand that. I have a rottie/lab mix, and he is just the sweetest dog. I can only hope that all the love, time, patience, and care that I put into him will pay off. As far as the girl who was bit- I hope she will be okay, and be able to overcome that fear.
12. Hey all you dog fanatics! I don't know if you remember me, I haven't been around in a while- but just got some time too and decided I would stop by to see how everyone is. Boy, this place is busy! I have a couple of other boards that I keep up with, and usually I only get done getting caught up at one, and then I don't have much time left. Since I am a junior in highschool, things are pretty busy- and now that it is getting nearer to the end of school- I am able to get more time to do things (finally!) My Landon is almost one now, he will turn one on June 11th, and on June 14th Lilly will turn two. Three days apart, my two beautiful babies!!! here's Lilly (yellow lab mix) and Landon (black lab/rottie mix)
13. dogpaddle- someone actually did try to sell their dog on e-bay, when you go to their site it says that no animals will be sold their- they eventually took it off, after many complaints...sad to know people would do such a thing! this wasn't too long ago either- one month maybe????
14. Okay guys- I am just going to jump in here...lol First of all, I disagree with mixing breeds- no matter how responsible you are, no matter how long you have been doing it- there is no need to do it!!! Just like the Labradoodle (or something like that- ha!)- they say they are making it for a breed that does not shed, and that people won't have allergies- well heck, just go get a dang standard poodle- don't be ruining the wonderful breeds that we have- and instead of making "new" breeds to please people, why don't you start saving the dogs that are in the shelters, day after day, more and more are put to sleep- they need a forever home, someone to love them If your going to breed- than breed to better a breed all around...don't go making up a new breed just so it will become "popular". Its not needed- let me tell you, we are already overpopulated with dogs- mixes inparticular... obviously the lab mixes in the shelters don't seem to be popular, seeing that there are so many being put down... Whats going to be next? a chihauahound??? geeshus!!!! Instead- give out pamphlets telling people to go to their local shelters, theres so many suffering dogs there- waiting to go into a home where they will be loved. But no, us humans are stubborn- and we decide to bring more "unneeded" (not necessarily unwanted) dogs into this world.. well I am sick of crap happening and dogs taking the blame for it- oh well the dog didn't work out- so the dog gets sent to the shelter, sooner or later it will be put down- only because the humans didn't know what they were doing when they added a pup in their home. or just as simple as not getting your dog spayed or neutered...and oops, all the sudden your exepecting pups- well what happens when the complications come along? what happens when these pups come out unhealthy- are they going to have to live like that the rest of their lives? and most of these pups end up in homes that I would never want to see a pup end up in... I have rescued two dogs, I am 16 myself- and let me say this- there are so many more out there that need homes....we don't need to be creating new breeds! What for? the money?? why can't people be happy with just a pug??? geesh! what are we doing to breeds? what is happening? where are our minds??? I am sorry if this offends you, but I won't sit back- and I will feel free to shout out my opinion anytime. I hope you know what you are doing each time you bring an unneeded litter of pups into this world... The dogs in the shelters are just as important as your pug thingamagies- and they deserve the same amount of love, and the same chance to be placed in a wonderful home! leave the breeding up to those who are experienced, up to those who know what they are doing- and who are in it to better a particular breed all around!!! I am off my rant now..
