DogPaddle Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 As soon as I got the boys out to the lake/woods they ate a lot less, I figured they were just too busy. We are home now and this has not changed. They are pretty wiped out - it was a physically demanding trip. Anyone have any experience with this. Quote
MajiesMom Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Dogs are pretty habitual and when you change routine I think it screws them up a bit. Some times we get dogs at the kennel that because of the change from home to kennel don’t eat, conversely the dogs that don’t eat at home eat well at the kennel for some reason. Anyhow I wouldn’t worry too much, dogs can go for a few days without eating unlike us humans because in the wild they don’t eat everyday, only when they’re lucky. Their bodies are built for it. Maybe if you try to give them some green tripe mixed in with their kibble they'll eat, Magic can never resist it! Quote
DogPaddle Posted September 25, 2004 Author Posted September 25, 2004 Thanks MajiesMom, I was thinking it must be something like that - they'll still line up to get special treats and are drinking fine so we are probably fine. Actually I'm hoping that it will last long enough for Zaphod to break his food obsession habit. I'm convinced now that his eatdog persona is almost all habit/phsychological. I think he may not be stimulated enough. We may need to find some demanding activity for him. Quote
