Guest Anonymous Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 I live in a rural area where we don't need fence's for our dogs,as the road which leads to my house,and those around me is a coldersac and isn't driven on by anyone but the neighbours and myself. My baby is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier,the dogs that live around me are another Staffordshire Bull Terrier,an Australian Cattle Dog,a Maltese, a Jack Russell Terrier and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier/Boxer.As most of these dogs have grown up together they get along remarkably well. My family is the only family who has children,a 12 year old and 15 year old so the dogs visit here a lot and we play with them on my property. One of the downfalls of this situation is the Saffy/Boxer is incrediably sneaky,she won't venture to my house,she'l just come and steal my dog and take her back to her house.My dog comes home wet because they go swimming. The owner of the Staffy/Boxer is a lovely old woman who lets my dog nside her house and gives her treats and lots of love. Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 Im sorry that I didnt make it clearer how much I love my dog(I wasnt complaining about the woman doing this to her either).This is not an everyday occurence for her to be at the womans place,I just thought it was amusing for the staffie/boxer to 'steal' my dog and take her swimming. My parents are at home almost all the day,they ocassionaly clean houses,one or two days a week,and they take my dog along with them.She is the only dog(bar the Staffie/boxer)in the street which is allowed inside,where she chooses whichever bed she wants to sleep on,whenever she wants.She is taken to soccer with us every weekend and isnt considered a 'dog' she is a member of the family.Her beautiful bully grin and thumping staffie tail melt our hearts every day,she is well trained,we took her to puppy school and she attents obidience classes,but she does get away with a lot of things,like sniffing the cat a tad to much making her meow.The family joke is that my parents actually love the dog more than us kids! She gets plenty of excersise,whether it be playing/swimming with the other dogs,going for walks,chasing a golf ball,which my brother hits in our property,following my father and brother as they ride their motor bikes,swimming in our billabong,or going on camping or fishing trips with our family,or basically running herself ragged over the outskirts of the property There is no chance of her getting baited as each member of the street we live owns one of the above mentioned dogs and none of them would risk killing their own pet. We dont have fences on the property but their is a pen my father built which she stays in when we go out shopping or something,we are the only family to do so.In the pen she has kongs of many descriptions,bones and other toys to keep her amused. It actually hurts quite a bit to hear that I 'dont give a darn about her' as she is probably one of the most important things in my life.Having moved her just over a year ago we didnt make to many friends and when we brought our gorgeous Staffie pup we lavished all our love and attention on her,she's our 'baby' more then a pet,a member of our family.
