Guest Anonymous
Greenies are a vegetable based chew for dogs that are also a dental defense. I know there is a topic around here somewhere that discusses them....
Luka-pop
Is there a reason as to why it's vegetable based? Is it just better for them than meat
ArtfulDodger
nothing is better for dog's than meat, I feel sorry for the dogs that are forced to eat rice and lentils bcause their owner is a vegetarian. Yes, I do know vege's that feed their dogs sheep food, I think it is cruelty personally. A dog is supposed to eat flesh, the warmer the better. Guest Anonymous
I couldn't agree more with you Artful! oh yeah, just to add too... Some veggies are good for the dog as well... provide lots of good vitamins and such. Think of it, in the wild they did eat some berries and stuff too ( I know my dog does when I take her on nature walks! LOL) and they would also eat the stomachs of the animals they killed, which consisted of veggies too!
ArtfulDodger
very good point Hazel, the stomach of prey is eaten too. my dog's will eat anything but they LOVE meat and bones They both love eating cat shit too??
Guest Anonymous
haha, mine too! LOL it's taken me forever to teach Hazel to stay outa the litter boxes, and I STILL catch her going for them sometimes (well, the littler boxes are in the same room as Hazel's grooming table, so I HAD to teach her no!)
ArtfulDodger
great photos by the way Hazel!! That pic of your cute dog tying to eat the camera could be used as a CD cover. You have an artistic eye.

Kiger
I think they are vegetable based so that they can make them really hard and not have them splinter like rawhide. They are also completely digestible. I give Kato one once a week to help clean his teeth and freshen his breath. He loves them.
