3. I have been taking handling lessons and the obedince trainer at the facility has a Pyreneain (SIC?) Sheepdog, that dog looks like him, and sounds the same size too!
4. :x http://www.dogbarter.com/dogaddtl.aspx?id=1321&userid=1500 this person is claiming to have purebred Rare Rottweiler Pit Bulls "German Guard Dogs"

BAN-DOGS

Bandogge, not really a breed in my opinion, its a cross between a Rott and a Mastiff or Bullmastiff i thought... but this person, timbos 13, says APBT and Presa Canario. So im not sure any more.
6. i know someone who is single and has 2 kids (5 and 7?) and 3 ofthe shelters wouldnt let her adopt becouse of the young kids and the fact that she dosent make lots of money, she had owned a Rott/Boxer mix and he had died at age 14 almost a year ago, so even if she dosent have lots of money she cared for that dog. So she didnt want her kids (and herself) to not have a dog. She ended up buting a Basenji pup from a pet store... if the shelter had let her adopt a dog a life would have been saved, not wasted.
7. sadly they see their dogs as working animals, they get sick you just put them down:( Thank you for the advice!
8. sry abou the double posting!
9. I am going to visit some relitives in VT this weekend, my Rottie, Annie, is on the heart guard heartworm preventitive. 2 dogs at my relitives have heartworms. What are the chances of my dog getting heartworms if she comes with me? Hiow are they contracted? Even with the heartguard can she still get them? Is it safer just to leave her home?

11. Thats a good one, if any of you have ever read the book What MY Dog Has Tought Me About Life you will see a similar funny story!:)
12. now thats not fair. I have a wonderful Rott and my parents first Rottie was a shelter dog. I have been bit by only one dog out of aggression. It was A Shih tzu from the pound. SO maybe all Shihs arnt safe. Who knows? You have to meet each individuel dog. Not just the breed. Sadly many shelters just put Rotts and Pit Bulls down becouse people wont even consider them. The dogs dont deserve this..
13. What breed is Tyr? Im asuming he is a Border Collie. BCs or not as prone to hip dysplacia as other breeds, and they are very active sometimes too much for their own good! I would ask the vet about it, see what he thinks. Consider your dogs backround too. If he is an AKC dog you should be able to tell if his sire/dam are tested for OFA or pennhip
14. before considering getting a wolf-dog go meet somone who breeds these animals. Spen a lot of time with them, considering traing, socilazation, and your home owners insurence getting cancelled.
15. its really not fair to judge the breeds like that. If both are of good breeders and have plenty of doggie socilazation.

The Doberman

I have heard the Rottweiler referred to as the cadillac of guard dogs hehe Well they Dobes and Rotts are great dogs! They Dont get the credit that they deserve!
17. hmmmm interesting looking dog! :D definetly some German Shepherd. Possibly a little Basenji. Maybe even a pharoh or ibizan hound with ears like that!
18. I know you are all "dog people" in here, but what are everyones opinions on cats? Are you a cat hater or are you really a cat person with a dog?

20. hehe dogs and cats so interesting lol You feed, water and care for a cat he thinks *they wait on me hand and foot I must be God!* You feed, water, and care for a dog he thinks *they can take care me! They MUST be God!*
21. yes its used for the recall, you let your dog see other dogs, be petted by people, start sniffing something, ect then you call your dog if he dosent come you need to yank on the leash and pull the dog back in and at the very same time throw the chain it hits the dog and the dog learns fast that its better to come to you then get hit with the cahins that fall from the sky.
22. I think they work for stubborn dogs, but if you throw one at a small dog you could hurt it. I am not familiar with the Koelher methods of traing is there a site or a book that includes what it is?
23. that is pretty gross, i wonder what he is doing or where he is that he got that hot. I livin in CT and my father used to hunt with walkers, redbones and blk and tans. He also co owned a plott hound. He said his dog never got like this! but then again, he hunted in winter!
24. Congrats! My Rottie will never compete in agility, she can't make the jumps but she does know all of the eqipment. I am also lucky enough to have some of my own equipment. The other dog in ou house, the family dog Willow will hopefull be competing soon! Willow is a 1 1/2 yr. old Bernese Mountain Dog, so we hope she will be able to cmopete by summer.
25. it definetly hurts the breed! poor "breeders" hoping to make a little extra $$ start breeding their dogs, with little regard to genetics and health
