imported_Cassie
Yes, dogs can suffer from a form of ADHD. The difference between a dog with a normal high energy (sporting dogs, herding dogs have been bred specifically to perform tasks which require them to be unusally hyper) and a dog with ADHD... Dogs with ADHD have exceptionally short attention spans and a high degree of impulsiveness that makes it impossible for them to focus on one task for long...they are easily distracted. A normal high energy dog will focus very quickly on the click and treat game...they are normal active dogs who haven't learned how to control their behavior, but they can if you show them how. The truly hyperactive dog can't focus even if she wants to. There are tests you can do at home to prove if your dog is just normal hyperactive or if the dog truly has ADHD. Hope that helps you. DogPaddle
Interesting info Cassie. DoctorBritta - Just for future reference this is a forum or "message board", it is not like live chat. This means that it is perfectly normal for your message to not be responded to immediatly, sometimes it even takes up to a day but often someone will respond within 4 hours or less depending on the time of day you post and the traffic in the section you post in.
