Guest Mutts4Me Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 I don't know what TATE magazine is. But I went into a bookstore today, looked around at the magazine shelves, and my eyes landed upon a staffie (I think it's a staffie)! So instantly, I think, "awww, Staffie!" And so I wander over curiously, wondering what TATE magazine is. Then I got a clear picture of the cover: Oh, great. Nevermind, scratch that "aww" okay? I mean, still a cute Staffie, but a big "grrr" to the magazine. Quote
pei obssessed Posted December 9, 2003 Posted December 9, 2003 that picture on the cover is horrible--what idiots :agrue: Quote

DogPaddle Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Tate is an art mag, we can hope that the picture is intended to draw attention to negative stereotypes thereby causing people to think about them and re-evaluate them without bias. Quote
Guest Mutts4Me Posted December 11, 2003 Posted December 11, 2003 Maybe. But the title "Top Dogs" is I think referring to some kind of awards, for the best in whatever areas... So I don't think it's a take on stereotypes. I think it's someone's take on what a "top dog" is. Anyone subscribe to this mag, by the way? That could tell us if there's anything relevent inside? I might want to write a letter, but I'd like the full story first. And I was so disgusted in the store, I didn't think to further investigate. Quote
