Abused Dog Indicates Domestic Violence

Oct. 17, 2003
(KSL News) -- An indicator of domestic violence can be animal cruelty and a small child was witness to abuse of a malnourished, dehydrated dog today.

Neighbors saw a man drive into a Salt Lake City neighborhood near 1374 W. 300 S., whip and beat the female dog, then zoom away.

Aime Delobell, Witness: "There was a child with him, might say about seven maybe eight years old, crying in the truck really loud. Like saying 'Daddy, Daddy, don't beat the dog up.' Took the kid back in the truck and took off out of this parking lot like 65 miles an hour."

Animal control officials are concerned for the child, the dog and the puppies she is obviously feeding. They are looking to prosecute the dog's owner, and say they have several leads.
