imported_patricia
Hi, whippets are small site hounds, well i say small it seems that nowadays there are a lot of no limit racing whippets, they have been crossed with a greyhound and can be very big ie. i seen one run and it was 70 lb, silly ey whippets are supposed to be small and range from 16lb to 32lb. we race in classes, upto 20lb, upto24lb, upto28lb and upto32lb. whippets are the most affectionate creature i have ever had the pleasure of owning, they do't smell except when they roll in something yukk and they like to do that so they have a bath regular.. we race for championship titles and then the champions run off to attain a supreme title , this happens once a year so is very hard to aquire, whippets are adorable as is most other dogs...........I just love whippets....

imported_patricia
exercise, well i walk mine three miles a day when racing and rest them the day before and after a race, they socalise very well apart from when i am walking them, then they bark at every other breed of dog  if they see a cat, well they try and pull me through the hedge after it and do you now what them cats down our way wait for me to go out with the dogs and take it in turns to run across the road lol, in the summer i used to take the dogs to the coast for a run on the beach, they jus loved that but can't do so much training now due to work committments, i take the three youngest dogs to work with me and the others just laze about at home enjoying the rest.. they are not left for long periods, that is why i am doing the job i am doing, the dogs come first the job second..... speak to you later bye for now

starcastle
Hmm, Slovenia. You will have the first Slovenian Silken Windhound litter later this year I think. Silken Windhound is a breed created from Whippet and Borzoi, it looks like Slovenia is going to recognise the Silken Windhouds this year. Guest Anonymous
Really :o , do you know who is the breeder. Are there any web pages about them (could ypu please write them)
starcastle
Breeder is Helena Arh, kennel Wolkowo (she hasn't updated her site in years but you'll find contact info there) http://ksh.fgg.uni-lj.si/WOLKOWO/ Helena co-owns Kristull Coco Chanel with a German kennel, they also co-own a male puppy from me (now 7 months) and he will be the sire of the first Slovenian litter, Coco will probably be in season when Silver is about 1 year old. Let's see if he is old enough then to understand :-) You can see both Coco and Silver at http://www.spirit-of-the-tsar-borzois.de/ click on "past and present" under Silken Windhounds. The rest of the Europan Silkens can be seen at http://www.windhound.com http://members.surfeu.fi/eija.achren/ http://www.saunalahti.fi/~ejuhola/siru/ http://www.saunalahti.fi/~tytti10/koirat/ The Finnish Silken Windhound club http://members.surfeu.fi/ssvk/en_index.html The International Silken Windhound Society http://www.silkenwindhound.org Here is my own favourite pic of my firstborn puppy :-) http://www.silkenwindhound.com/starcastle/dscf0023.jpg More general info http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/silkenwindhound.htm http://centralpets.com/pages/critterpages/mammals/dogs/DOG6032.shtml My own site www.windhound.com is probably the most extensive Silken Windhound site on Internet.
