1.
He has five fingers on his back legs, I was told it means he has mountain dog blood in him. Is this true? And one more thing: is tail is curled, some times it forms a ring that ends inside is back fur.
That "fifth finger" is called a dewclaw and many dogs have it. If you havent already you should get it removed, although I forgot what age is old enough to get it removed... That tail could come from a lot of different breeds. Shiba inus, huskies, Alaskan malamutes, etc all have those type of tails. In my opinion the pup looks like a GSD but its still to young to tell yet. I do know one thing for sure though, that puppy is absolutely adorable!!! :iloveyou:
 2. I would have to say for my choice.... also the APBT and all other bulldog decendents. I just adore them, especially with brindle coloring. I just LOVE brindle coats!!! Any dog I see that has brindle coloring I just die right there! Also Rotties and Great Danes. Oh and Dobies! I could name so many but Im partial to big/medium dogs with short fur and unique traits. I think Im gonna make a list of my fav doggies: 1. APBT (AmStaffs, StaffBulls) 2. Boxers 3. Rotties 4. ACDs 5. BullMastiffs 6. Great Dane 7. Bulldog (English, American...) 8. Sheperds (of any kind) 9. Aussies 10. Alaskan Husky 11. Rhodesian Ridgeback 12. Labs 13. Goldies 14. Chows 15. Great Pyrenese Oh and Id have to say mixed breeds are my favorite actually but they can vary so much its hard to say why I like them as far as looks go.
 3. OH! I heard that too! I also think its wrong! I mean its great they are trying to help people to have a 'good' pet but what really is a good pet anyway? THe whole thing sounds like an experiment and thats wrong to do something like that on a living thing! I dont know maybe I have it all wrong but it sounds like they are just adding to the population, like you said, a puppy mill! Why cant people just give the dogs living right now a chance instead of replacing them with the 'perfect' dog?!? Oh I will NEVER understand humans, even though I am one... some are just such a disgrace!!!!
 4. http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36%257E28388%257E1872864,00.html Geez she sounds like such an animal lover when she wrote this article, but in the other one shes an idiot!!!
 5. I voted no! Dumb a** people, oooo I just wanna kill em. I wouldnt really kill em, I just want to.
Remember that after the three pit bulls attacked and killed Brooke, they went on, looking for their next victim.
Yea, Im sure thats what they were doing, like pit bulls are just out to kill EVERYONE in the ENTIRE world!
There's a lot of talk about how it's not the breed's fault. People who own American Staffordshire terriers or American pit bull terriers say that a few bad dogs raised by unscrupulous owners have ruined their reputations. Yeah, sure, as if I could train my Pomeranian-mix puppy to become an attack dog.
...You could train it if you wanted but its body wouldnt be suited for it. Gosh, they act like other dogs cant be vicious like pit bulls can!!!
 6.
Another thing, its wonderful of you to want to train the pup and take care of it...is there any way you can move the dog in with you???
...I wish I could but I live in an apartment :x and I have a cat so it wouldnt work out.
Have you suggested moving the dog indoors and if so, was she even a little receptive to it?
I talked to her about it once but almost the whole family has alergies. Ill try again, they can always take pills for that. Though Im not going to say that to them, I dont wanna be too rude, even though they deserve it for what they are doing to the poor puppy. Im so mad about the whole situation....
 7. Thanks you all, I think Ill try to hepl the situation from your suggestions. Ok, I know this sounds selfish that I want her to stay there just so I can see her because I have REALLY grow attached to her. I know shes going to need a better home though. Its just going to be so hard for me to let her go... OMG Im crying right now. The only problem now is finding her a shelter, that is if they will give her up. If they arent going to Im just going to have to try my best to teach her myself, though as most of you have said if they dont renforce it my teachings wont work too much. Does anyone know of a good toy or something that will keep her busy in her lonesome time outside? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and thanks for your help everyone!!!
 8. My aunt has a dog that she got for her children to play with. She is a lab mix, they think and she is really sweet but has many behavioral problems. Recently they have been thinking about getting rid of her. I am sooooo mad at them for that because I knew before they got the puppy that they wouldnt have time for her. tHey have 3 children under 8 years of age and they all were so happy at first but now Slippers is like an old toy, unused and ignored. I love her so much and I would hate to see her leave but Im starting to think it would be best for her. Maybe I could help train her so that they wont get rid of her but I will need ya'lls help. First of all I will give you a basic summary of her behavior. When she sees somebody coming outside (she is an outside dog only so its like her kingdom) she will either bark and act dominant or completely submit and run to you with her tail tucked and pee on the ground. With me she knows I wont hurt her and I am her playmate so I personally dont see too much wrong with her but everyone else thinks she is cowardly or even worse too hyper and uncontrollable. Second, once she does know you Slippers will jump up on you ALL the time!!! I know shes still a puppy (10 months) and she wants to play but she wont just sit with you and be calm she HAS to play. If you sit on the ground she tackles you, if youre standing up she jumps, if you start to run she chases you and treats you like her own prey. She just wont stop being active! lol Also, I would love to take her for walks on the leash but she hates to leave the yard. I think she is afraid of being away from her territory and is insecure. Shes afraid of water too but thats no big deal as she doesnt need to be in water except for baths. Oh and she has a chewing problem! Slippers is biting EVERYTHING in the yard. That is the main reason they wanted to get rid of her. Bitter apple is something suggested but will it work? If not we need something that will be child safe. Overall she needs basic obeidience and maybe even a sport or activity to release her energy in. Almost any toy can keep her attention so I think as long as the sport involves an item she will accept it. Thanks for your help everyone and I hope you reply because we really need your opinion! It coudld be a life or death matter, if they return her to the shlter who knows what will happen to her...
 9. Signed #126, hope more people sign soon....   I HATE PUPPY MILLS SO BAD!!!!
 10.
very wrong BUT the males should have been fixed also

Why???? Uncastrated Males don't come into any form of estrus twice a year and don't send dogs wild twice a year. This guy was either ignorant or stupid you do not take a female on heat into the park. However I have seen it all before then the owners go beserk when your innocent dog gets interested ....amazing
Ok I agree that it was idiotic to bring the female to the park also, I agree VERY STRONGLY about that! ...But I dont agree that the males shouldnt have been fixed too. It may be true they dont send out AS strong of signals but other dogs and bitches can tell if the male is or isnt neutered. For example, when I volunteer once in a while we will recieve a new dog that hasnt been neutered. The other most of the time sweet dogs seem to turn into monsters the way the react to him! No matter what you think the factor of fixed or not does play a part in the scene.
 11. There are plenty of rescues that will let you help but most likely not shelters. I am 13 too and I couldnt help out with a local shelter without my mom but then I found Straydog and I have been dedicated to them ever since. I will try to find a site that will help place you with a rescue if you want. ...Or you can do a search and find a website that has listings of places that want your help. Good luck on your search!
