Dapplepie's, brindlepie's, ect?

I want to know why so many breeders are breeding dachshunds of two different patterns, and then they advertise them as dapplepie's, brindlepie's, ect? they can't register them that way! AKC will only let you register one color and one pattern, so in the case of dapples and piebalds how do you know when you buy a piebald that you didn't really get a Dbl. dapple? well one way is the eyes; if your dog has one or both eyes are blue then you know you don't have a piebald because the blue eye is only a trait of the dapple pattern. so I hope that you will print this so that other people don't get taken by bad breeders that are only breeding for colors not for what is right for the breed of dachshunds. I now have a so called dapplepie that I got from a breeder that i thought was reputable, i now will spayed my dog (that she new i wanted a breeding stock dog) and sell her a a pet? Please tell people to insist on a copy of their pedigree before you buy the dog! I did no meany different time ask to see one but there was alway a reason why she couldn't get me one, I was stupid, but i want to let everyone else know that so they will not make the same mistake i did.

You are so RIGHT.
A dapple piebald should be registered as a dapple regardless of whether or not the puppy has blue eyes.
The dapple gene is semi-lethal and should be the ULTIMATE determining factor on what pattern to label the puppy.
The piebald gene is recessive and will follow the puppy through genetics IF if acquired the gene and if it has a piebald gene previously then it will be noted on it's pedigree.
The dapple gene however once lost is lost forever so anybody seeing offspring from this pup may not realize that it is in fact a dapple and not a piebald.
People also need to remember that a dapple puppy can only be dapple IF one of the parents is dapple so what happens if a dapple is labeled a piebald and then throws dapple puppies? LABEL IT A DAPPLE.
Better yet ... Don't breed for dapple X piebald at all.
