Guest Anonymous
Hi Donna Although only your vet can give a diagnosis, it sounds to me like your dog has an allergy possibly to its food. Biting of the feet is one of the symptoms of an allergy but it would be wise to take your dog to the vet ASAP. The itching could be anything from a reaction to shampoo to a bug bite to any type of allergy. Often people make the mistake of using "special" products on their dogs (before they know the cause), which in fact can irritate the dogs skin even more. It would not be wise to take in anyones recommendation until you know for certain exactly what you are dealing with. Skin problems, and allergies come in many forms, check with vet, then ask what has worked for people. Good luck, hope you find out whats bothering your dog RR
Guest Anonymous
if you're sure it's not parasites (fleas, ticks, etc) your vet can provide a medicated shampoo if necessary. could easily be in the diet. some native plants can also irritate the skin and when severe cause rashes. if you bathe your dog too much, you can contribute to skin irritation. Guest Anonymous
My boy Lucas does the same thing. It took us forever to find out what was causing his allergies. It turned out to be dairy products. No more Milk bones for him. =( Try limiting your dogs diet to find out what sort of things he may be allergic to. Also remember that just because you fed him something and he doesnt break out immediatly it still could be the cause. Try different diets for a couple weeks. Ex: Cut out all dairy for 2 weeks If no improvement try something else. Good Luck to you. Figuring out what is causing the allergy can be a very tough thing to do.
