1. No, he's pretty obviously a crestie. Allthough... I have seen a picture of a Papillon-Crested mix and he looked just like a very hairless Crested. I didn't even see any reference to the papillon. (in his looks that is)
2.
Yes I have....and I LOVE your kids!!! They are just great....I am such a HUGE fan of the breed. I have been for about 10 years. I can't wait to see if he would want to get into the ring like his big 'brothers'!! Wouldn't he just be a trip???
Hehee... Thanks! :D I think he'd be great. Does he have his pedigree? I mean... Don't you guys need it to take your dogs to shows? We here need papers that show the dog is actually a Chinese Crested and it's had all his vaccinations done.
Welcome back, Crested! :D We missed you oodles and noodles! And I LOOOOVE your Avatar! :iloveyou: Funky idea, Crested.
Thanks Rowie! :D The avatar is Ben as a pup and I thought I'd make it a bit more unusual and that's what it looks like now. Pretty happy with it too. :D
3. I didn't watch the full length thing at first (dumb me) but now I did and all I can say is: WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT!! That's absolutely ridiculous! Oh my God! That's like me saying let's ban all German Shepherds for the only reason that I personally have had only bad encounters with them, BUT I'M NOT because I know that it's an individual thing. I've met aggressive German Shepherd INDIVIDUALS, I'm not saying that the entire breed is aggressive! Oh geesh! This guy is just too much. The bans haven't worked in other parts of the world as the reporter said but he just replies "...but I think it will work in Ontario." This guy is a total idiot!
4. Yeah... he does seen... eh... "smart".
5. Aww! That's nice! You have to keep me updated on Tater! I once ment to take a dog from Crest-Care called Isac. He looked exacly like Ben, but he was too frightend so they couldn't ship him. He was even afraid to go to the mailbox, poor thing. ObedienceGrrl, have you been on this page before? http://personal.inet.fi/koti/crested/ ;)
6. That's fantastic!! I loved when he looked at the picture for 2 seconds and said "that one". Then when he got it wrong he just put his hands in the air KNOWING he's been cornerd and says that you can't expect him to say wich is a pit and wich is not. AT FIRST HE TOLD THEM WICH ONE IS THE PIT!! If you can't expect him to say wich one is and wich one isn't... why did he say "that one" in the first place?? Geesh! Some people have brains!
7.
Hey, someone who I can ask questions about Cresteds :) woo hoo!
I'll talk about Cresties with you any time! :D How many do you have? Hairless or PP's? Name? Age? Pics? Origin? See... what I mean!
Welcome back Mia :B-fly: Trying to get rid of you, never. :D
Weeeell... You never know...
HEY CRESTED! Good to see you again! :D How have you been?
I'm good. A reporter is coming in a couple hours to do an article of me and the dogs. Eep! :o
why would we want you gone? I mean, just because you're loud, opinionated, hard to get along with..... (all of which is patently untrue)       welcome back. Good to se you again. How are the Cresteds doing? 8)
Gosh! Well I am all of those things, so don't try and deny that! Ben and Bella are doing Ok... Exept that Bella's got an ear infection that just doesn't want to give in. I've put eardrops for two weeks in her ears and nothing... :-?
Yeah!! Hey Crested....go check out my new boy that I am adopting.....go search for posts about 'Tater'. That's him!!! You'll like him!!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Tater!! More pics of him over here! Where did you get him? Who from? When do you get him? MORE INFO QUICK!!
8. Oh well... there goes the theory that you all wanted me gone. :-? It's good to be back!
9. Good... I thought you wanted to get rid of me so I thought I'd drop by and say NEVER!
10. I know many of you have tried to figure out a way to get rid of the very irritateing Crested from dogomania who only wants to torture dogomaniacs and is the pure reincarnation of evil. Right? :baddevil: Well... I'm sorry to disappoint you guys and say you can't get rid of me. I'm here to stay! (even though I do have strangely long periods of being quiet... Hmm... :hmmmm:) Well anyway... I thought I'd tell you that I'm back again. :D
11. Thanks everyone! I don't know how I will survive this financially, but... I hope it will turn out ok. I have had enough heart ache from Ben today. When I went out with Ben and Bella, she ran straight in fron of him so that her leash burnt the skin off his chin. So he started bleeding and now he has to wear a collar so he won't scratch it so it will start bleeding again (and when I mean bleeding I mean POURING BLOOD). So now he's got problems with his eyes plus that he has to wear that plastic collar thing on his head. Wow, he's a lucky dog isn't he? :-?
12. Well it looks like it has to wait a week forward. Damn it! :x I called the vet who said that she didn't have the test slips or time to see him now. So now I have to call the vet at 8 in the morning and try and get him a time for next tuesday. Dad told me that he might have a chanse to get me to the vet on thursday so I have to try and get a time then. This vet that I talked to did say that he has to be checked out to rule out infections etc. and to do the test.
13. Well I'm trying to get him to the vet today because tomorrow I won't have anyone to drive me to vet and neither on thursday. Friday is so and so too. On saturday and sunday it's impossible aswell and the same on monday. So... It would have to go a week forward if I don't get him to the vet today. And because it's soon 6PM my vet has already gone home so now I have to try and get him seen by a vet that's actually working at this time. (guess how much that will cost)
14. Zoey: Money isn't just tight - it's pretty much impossible to get at this point and it makes me crazy. Every single bone in my body tells me to go to the vet NOW but when I look at my bank balance.... :( This is the last thing I needed at this point. I've kept his eyes in good condition - he doesn't have any scabs on his eyes. Always when I've noticed that his eyes are starting to make the mucus thing I've rinsed his eyes.
15. I have to say one more thing. I REALLY hope that he hasn't got the dry eye thing, because there are people who have allready suggested that I put him to sleep because he allready has problems with allergies + that he's afraid of other dogs and strange people. :( I'd hate to start hearing that again. I know atleast one person who I KNOW will tell me that she knew she was right so the best thing would be to euthanize Ben before he gets more troubles. (I'm NOT making this up!!) And just as clarification: I'm NOT putting Ben to sleep, but I hate to hear that some people think I should. Who doesn't hate the fact that people talk about putting your dog to sleep?
16. I guess I have to try and call the vet then and see if I can lend some money from someone. Or ask if she takes Master Card... :-? But is this dangerous for Ben? What's the worse that can happen? (PLEASE don't think I won't take him to the vet! I'm just asking.) I thought that if I can't lend any money etc. that I would clean his eyes twice a day and go in the beginning of next month. But is two weeks too long to wait?
17. First I thought that it's probably just something he got in his eye when it started making kind of mucus looking yellow and sticky stuff. So I just cleaned his eyes with the Pfizer eye drops that I have (made especially for dogs). In a couple days the result was the same so I cleaned again. I continued with this for a while and then I noticed that I had to clean his eyes daily. It seemed to get better for a while but now I have to clean his eyes twice a day. His eyes get this mucus looking stuff that is yellow and sticky and it covers (on bad days) nearly his entire eye. His other eye is normal so nothing wrong with that one. Only his left eye does this. F
18. Kat: Yes, but there are OTHER dogs besides poodles that don't shed such as Basenjis. Bedlington Terriers, Bichon Frises. Coton de Tulears, Irish Water Spaniels, Italian Greyhounds, Kerry Blue Terriers, Malteses, Portuguese Water Dogs, Schnauzers, Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Bichon Havanaises... So why poodles from all of these? THAT is what I don't get.
19. Oh, brother... This is starting to make me really annoyed. I was annoyed with the bichpoos and the schnoodles allready. Then came the goldendoodles and labradoodles. Has anyone asked themselves why they use poodles in every mix? This once started in puppymills when they wanted a little more extra cash from their mixed puppies so they came up with a name and called then new purebreeds. Now from petshops to BYBs it's become a trend and now everyone either wants one or is interested in one. Some might even look at their dogs and notice that hey! I've got a standard poodle and (let's have fun with this shall we?) a hairless big Peruvian Inca Orchid! Why not make Peruvianoodles? Wohoo! I'm going to have a purebreed litter and I don't have to pay that much! They must be REALLY hypoallergic and have fantastic temperaments and because they're mixed - they don't have any health issues (look at the Shepherdoodle's info in dogbreedinfo)! Aargh...!
20. Thanks for that pepper spray idea. I've seen way too many agressive dogs and haven't had a clue on what to do if that dog would to attack me or my dogs but now... hehe... I'm going to buy a pepper spray and starts spraying whenever that kind of a situation happens. (plus it's a good help for scaring off creepy homo sapiens too.)
21. Oh, brother... Need I say more?
22. courtnek: Blaah! But I ment that they'd be locked in THE jacket and put into the isolation room with the padded walls + one (not working) toilet. And they'd be left there to rot for the rest of their stupid lives. How does that sound? :evilbat:
23. WTF?!?! :o They used a dog to TEACH their kids?!?!?!?!?!?! They should be locked up in the loonie bin, not jail or anything else!! Sick bastards!!
24. Wow! That's the weardest dog I've EVER seen (and I have two hairless dogs, so I know what I'm talking about )! I've never even heard of a Mi-Ki. ...but they're not hairless (genetically), just shaved hairless from the head but I have no clue why. I mean... I understand hairless dogs because they're genetically hairless. Cresteds may have hair on their bodies but they're supposed to look hairless even though not shaved (like Bella). Is the head shaved just for fun? Or is there some other reason? I can't see a reason either healthwise or any other why a dog's head would be shaved. The only reason I can come up with is looks and I think it's weird. Spanish water dogs for example were shaved from their bottom and hind legs so that they could swim more easilly. I can understand that that has stuck by with the breed ever since, but shaving heads... That's a totally other ballgame. Why?
