1.

do they make them small enough for my chihuahua...HAHAHAHAHAAH.....
Or big enough for a Great Dane or a St. Bernhard? I think this MUST be a wind up. If you read the entire site then you see so many things that are just rediculous. I thought I'd brighten the day with this one.
I think the fact that they are MEAT scented condoms gives it away. I don't know if that would be a good idea....I SMELL MEAT. MUST FIND IT AND EAT IT!
Exacly!! Or what about this one?
Just like with human condoms, the dog may experience a slight loss of sensation. However, the condoms are made of a very thin latex which should transmit heat well, a key factor in creating a lifelike feel. We are also experimenting with new scents, which work like a "doggy Viagra", providing further sensory stimulation.
Doggy Viagra.... Rrrrriiiiiiight!

3. So, if you don't want to spay/neuter your dog, people have finally come up with another alternative. Dog condoms! For more info: http://www.dogcondoms.com/
4. Thanks! :D I wonder if I should make another "good post". Hmm... Ok... Hold on... *new topic coming up*
5. courtnek: Exacly. That's exacly what I ment!
6. Thanks guys! :D
that is interesting. one would then hazard to say that breeders who support inbreeding or linebreeding also support letting nature take its course.
I'm thinking of the genetic problems that occur with inbreeding. The surviving puppies then take these problems and pass them on to their possible offsprings. I don't want to produce sick puppies. That's the way I've decided to go with the "no inbreeding" policy. If someone else decides he/she wants to take that road - then it's his/her buissness. But I do feel sorry for the pups that possibly might get problems such as missing ear canals or dying.
it may sound cruel, but the breeders who support inbreeding should then also support letting the individuals with "mutations" and problems that prevent them from being viable perish.
...and still... the remaining puppies pass this on to their potential offspring and the vicious circle has begun.
I wonder how many of these breeder are willing to forsake the $$$ and let some of their puppies go if they are not able to feed, etc. interesting....
I personally don't care about the money, I care about the wellbeeing of both my dam and my puppies. I will try and give each puppy the best chance at life and if this means hand feeding one or two if they fail to feed on their own for some reason, then so be it. If I (god forbid) ever get in the decition of putting a pup to sleep because of some uncurable thing that makes it impossible for the pup to live a normal life, then I have to think hard what I'll do... I can't say it yet. That will be determined then. I hope I will never have to determine it though.
7. Thank you all! :D ObedienceGrrl: The first thing I did when I came here was to make a search with the word 'Crested' (as in Chinese Crested). ;) So ofcourse I saw Pogo's pic. He's such a looker! jweissg: In nature there appears also mutations in the (wolf) puppies due to this inbreeding, but those puppies die because they don't have humans to try and keep them alive. They can't manage on their own so either the mother abandones the sick pup or he/she starves sooner or later. So inbreeding is bad. And I try to use two dogs that are as far as possible from eachother when it comes to their pedigree. Some people say that inbreeding is not so bad and that it's the only way to know exacly how good/bad your line of dogs is and I suppose it's right in some ways, but when you go too far you do get mutations. Inbreeding and not inbreeding is a breeder's own decition. I've made this one and I prefer dogs that don't have a high inbreeding percent. Some might not care about this. That's their buissness. ...so this is my point of view on this. :D
8. It's been a while, I know... I've been a "tiny bit" busy as I've moved to an apartment of my own with my two bundles of joy. :D Plus that I got a place to work for the entire spring and summer before I get to school. And if I don't get accepted, then I guess I have to continue working in there (allthough I don't love it). :-? Anyway... How have things gone over here? Give me all the gossips! I guess I could tell you a couple things regarding what I have mentioned before (my love for dogs & breeding). I don't remember if I posted about this, but I got my kennel name in January so in the future there will be some Enigmatic hairless puppies around... And when it comes to puppies... Weeeeeell... Bella is going to be mated this autumn/spring after her knee- and eye examination with a Finnish and Norwegian Champion true hairless male who is also health checked. And I know you're going to ask about this so... I've done a little research on the future puppies pedigree and the inbreeding % in 8 generations is just a little bit over 1%. Not bad, huh? Wow, things have gone fast... I quit school, got a job, applyed for a "nurse-school", got my kennel name, am planning on breeding Bella AND I moved away from home in 4 months. Didin't actually think things would turn out this way this fast. Anyway... As you see... even if I don't post here as often as I did before... you CAN'T get rid of me entirely! :evilbat: Mwahahahahahaha! Edit: Oh, nearly forgot... if you want to look at pics of Ben and Bella and the future dad, then go to http://personal.inet.fi/koti/enigmatic/
9. Oh geesh! People are SO smart again!
10. desertlady: Oh, I'm so glad. That's been my main worry all the time - that with some browser the site don't work.
11. Oh, and I forgot to say that the powder puff peruvians are registerd the same way as hairless ones but they don't have showrights yet. The breed is so unusual (even though it is old enough to have come from the Inca culture) that it's in the same spot that Cresteds were in the 50's and 60's. At that time the powder puffs of Cresteds didn't have show rights either. And along with the Peruvian, the Mexican hairless is in the same point. Their powder puff versions don't have showrights either. It's weird to me, because in nearly every litter there are both hairless and powders because the hairless carry the powder puff gene as resessive and the hairless gene as dominant. So when you put two hairless to gether you do get powders allso. Same with if you put a powder together with a hairless. But if you put a powder with a powder then you only get powders, because powder puffs do not carry the hairless gene at all (this is the reason why they have full teeth and the hairless don't - the hairless gene is connected to the gene that goes for the teeth) Ha! I've made my homework!
12.
The site is nice, very well organized. They're talking about the sire and dam of the Peruvian Hairless puppies that are advertised on your English intro page: http://personal.inet.fi/koti/crested/index_eng.html
Oooooohhh! NOW I get it. (sorry...) Yeah, they're the same breed. The dam is a hairless small Peruvian Inca Orchid (Perro Sin Pelo Del Peru) and the sire is the powder puff version of the same breed (medium size). And the pups are expected to become either medium or large. (and YES! a small dogs can be the moms to big dogs. ;))
13. Icedog: Oh my God!! That's horrible!! :o They kept the dogs in the cold?? And put them to sleep when they didn't want them anymore??? They're sick! More then sick!!! Well better in heaven then in a mill... Rest in peace little babies!
14. Icedog: Yup, Chinese Cresteds are in the FCI and my dogs are registerd in the Finnish Kennel Club. :D I just noticed one thing with my new webcounter. 79 people have visited my page in 24 hours!!! :o Unbelievable!!
15. Rowie: Thanks! :D I don't know wich page you mean... Could you copy and paste the URL of the page? (I've disabled the right-clicks, but up in the area you normally type an internet address you want to visit the right-click works)
16. I have to ask you guys one thing... can you visit my homepage and see if it works for you? I've been working like crazy on trying to get it to work and now it SHOULD, but does it with every web browser? If you could just check it out (there's an english version too, so don't worry about the Finnish part. ;)) http://personal.inet.fi/koti/crested/ Thanks in advance. Oh... and any tips on how to make the pages better are very welcome!
17. If you want to see a freaky hairless mix then how about this one? ;) http://www.bemikitties.com/hopeshaven/happyh3.html
18. sphynx cats are hairless the same way that Chinese Cresteds, Peruvian Hairless', Mexican Hairless' and American Hairless Terriers are. The origin of sphynxes was a "genetic error" and people of that time thought it was cute and started breeding these hairless creatures. The sphynx is a very old race of cats so it is neither a freaky thing modern people have come up with by crossbreeding.
19. Ok... I have to comment on this. I have no problem with people thinking that all hairless breeds are ugly and un-natural, because everyone has his/her own opinions. So no hard feelings about that. But I do NOT like crossbreeding in any form ESPECIALLY when it comes to two breeds that are totally different from eachother both menthally and physically. I like this dog because of one reason only. He was abandoned and afterwards rescued. No dog desurves to be abandoned or to come to this world unwanted. No matter what anybody thinks, I like this dog and if I'd see him somewhere unwanted and homeless, YES I would take this dog home with me!
20. Carolk9s: That's what I thought first but the more pics I looked at, the more I thought he's cute. :D Yoladybug: That's not nuts, that's cute. But I can't make my two shower with me even if I'd want to. They hate showering and they hate water! :D
21. I found this one page about a Chinese Crested - English Bulldog mix (and yes, you did read correcly!) called Spike. At first I thought he's incredibly ugly, but now I think he's kind of cute... Here's the page where you can read more about him (and see more pics): http://www.defuzzld.com/Spike.html And... a must on all forums (especially dogo. ;)) PICS!! 22. Well on this other board one argument was that the dogs that live in a house with a yard don't get enough exercise, because they are let loose in the yard instead of going to as many walks.
23. I wanted to take this debate "out of Finland" too. This has become a pretty big debate on a Finnish dog board and I wanted to see what your views are on this. What kind of housing is best for a dog? Cityliving in a small apartment or small-town countryliving in a big (I don't meen a huge house that costs huge ammounts of money, but a normal sized single house) house with a yard? My views on this is that contryliving in a big house is better then cityliving in a flat, because if you've got a fenced yard you can let the dogs play free outside. In a city-flat you have to take the dogs out more often and on longer walks, because they can't get that energy out otherwise (without wrecking the flat). Views? Opinions? Thoughts?
