The names, breeds, and number of dogs you have
yellowlabsrule replied to yellowlabsrule's topic in Everything about dogs
OK, K! Don't be like Mei-Mei with the pics though! -
My aunt had a Schnauzer that ate rocks and she had to have the vet take them out as I recall. I'm not sure how she got them to stop though.

I never know who has what dog, and what breed, and what sex, and what name everyone's dog has. So for my sake (and anyone else) please put them here so I can come and look and see who's dog is who's. Thanks! Name: Winnie Sex: Female Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever Age: 7 (b-day november 20) Favorite things: Being with family, balls, and anything you can throw. Greatest wish: To be able to lay on the couch and chairs, to sleep in masters bed, and to be able to eat as much as I want! Oh, and one more thing...to be able to throw the woodstove out (it makes me to hot!) and to throw the computor out because my mommy is ALWAYS ON IT!  Hopefully in March, April, or June I will be adding a Dalmatian to the family! (clapping!)

They do feed them, but she is thin from having 8 puppies. I mean she's not extremely thin, but she's not plump like Winnie (my dog). I just don't want them to end up like this dog is Klamath Falls, OR. and not have anyone to save them. Already two dogs of the neighbors of these people have been shot because they were killing chickens. 373967- Dog:Border Collie/Spaniel Klamath Falls,OR 541-850-8418 Shelly 12-18-2002 Name: Magnum Age:8 years Sex:M Size:S Is hunting season over yet? Thats what poor Magnum is wondering!! He came to us with a bullet wound in his side and lots of love in his heart. He is very sweet and waiting for his new family. He only weighs about 30 pounds. Can you give this good old boy a home?

That's so horrible! What city in Oregon was this in?? The poor horses. How could someone not notice that they're neighbor had 140 horses! Were they in some remote place away from everyone?
-
This will sound like a dumb question, but why is a plastic bowl bad? Winnie just got a new stainless steel bowl for Christmas, but before that she ate out of a plastic bowl and never got anything. Is it bad for her to drink out of a plastic bucket?
-
All the neighbors around there shot at their dogs because they are sick of them. These people did have a dog who was attacking people, but they got rid of it. (I think they euthinized (sp?) it)

Why doesn't Winnie ever get a pink nose???
-
Very happy story! :D

Winnie drinks out of a plastic bucket, and eats out of a plastic bowl and her nose is brown.

7 puppies in Oregon need to find a good, loving home. There are 8 in the litter, but they want to keep one. My guess is they that the mom was a lab and one dad a lab and one dad a rott. Right now they are about 4 weeks old and living under a old manufactured home. The owners are going to take them to Walmart in a few days to give them away. They are EXTREMELY CUTE! The mother (lab) and another dog (possibly one of the fathers (the rott)) are in need of a good home also. The mother is thin and is stealing dog food from the neighbors, and the rott (he is NOT skinny) is also and is getting shot at. The owner showed me the bullet hole that is in the rott's ear. :o :o :( The owners really love their dogs, but they don't know anything about dogs. He didn't even know you weren't supposed to give them chocolate!!! :o If you are interested, post here and ask for more info! Please help these dogs!

WOW that shelter sounds great! Wonder if they'd let me live there... Just joking!

Number 1 the people were NOT selling the dogs they were giving them away. Number 2 do you think I wasn't good enough to take these dogs? Number 3 the shelter down here sucks. It doesn't even have it's animals on petfinder and I've told them about it!

Here is a great site that I love http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com It has helped me quite a bit. Here's what it says about the bloodhound. If you want a dog who: Is very large, powerful, and houndy, with loose skin and long hanging ears Has a noble, dignified, solemn expression Is easygoing and good-natured Is gregarious with people Can prove invaluable to your community by trailing lost children or disoriented elderly people (when trained for it) A Bloodhound may be right for you. If you don't want to deal with: Great strength, high physical vigor, and stubbornness, requiring lots of socialization and firm, patient training while he is still young and easy to manage Wandering and selective "deafness" whenever his tremendous nose locks onto a fascinating scent Quite a few serious health problems and a short lifespan Baying in a deep, soulful voice Profuse drooling A Bloodhound may not be right for you
selective "deafness"
Sounds like Winnie lately!
Eventually we hope to own a large enough spread that we can open our own large breed and hound rescue. We would like to devote our lives to finding loving homes for purebred dogs.
I would love to open a rescue to. We definitely have enough room! (26 acres!) I wouldn't care what size or breeds (even if they're mixed) they are though.
There was a 12" pile of drool on the steps after that
When I feed Winnie I make her sit/stay then dump food in and make her stay. When I am feeling cruel I make her stay really long and by that time there is a pond of drool

I saw one that I just HAD to laugh about. Don't remember the exact wording, but it went something like this: Beautiful Great Danes, great stocking stuffers. Stocking stuffers? How could you stuff a dane into a stocking? Actually maybe it was a rott or something. Just know it was big.
-
Winnie's nose went from pink to black to brown in her lifetime so far. Maybe next it will be pink or purple!

I was at a garage sale with a free Dal and heeler. Was going to get the Dal, but when I went back it was gone. At least they didn't go to the shelter like they were going to do.

Here's the pic. Isn't she cute??? I know I'm going crazy with pics today, but I think they're way more likely to get adopted if people see the pics!
