1. Yes I love going to dog shows, we have friends who show there's and we are hoping to show our second Bullmastiff for the first time, so its going to be all new to us :)
2. Bullmastiffs do have long coats, it is rare and also genetic as I found this pic while doing a search.
3. Sadly we lost our very special boy Charlie from cancer, he was taken away from us at the end of November 2006 this photo of him was taken in the summer last year! It was a very difficult decision to let you go but knew we were doing the right thing, and seeing your tail wagging made it even harder for us...those sweet expressions and licks you gave when whenever we were feeling sad but you always seemed to lift our spirits and was always gentle with everyone you met, even your lil friend who loves you so much, spending those times together playing with you and lying next to you on your bed. How hard life is now without you around, but you are free from pain now running free over Rainbow Bridge with Shandy, Merlin and Zak your friends R.I.P My sweet boy, until we meet again.
4. So sorry to hear that, wow I remember you talking about your sweet lil dogs, and I didn't realise how big Sharpei's were.
5.
Oddly once she's in there she's fine AS LONG as MTV is on! How funny is that?! I think perhaps she's just going through a teenager phase! :)
Yes maybe lol they do seem to pick up on our habits don't they, well at least she is going back in there thats a good start :) Crate training is a wonderful idea, as I have just started using it for my puppy and she loves it in there :) Pleased everything is going so well now!
6. Mouse, I am so pleased your friend got his Bullmastiff spayed, what a clever girl :)
7.
Hello! I have a 2 year old Chocolate lab who is all of a sudden terrified of her crate, which she normally loves. She's been going into her crate voluntarily everyday for 2 years, but last week all of a sudden she won't go in. My husband & I can't think of any trama/reason that caused this but it's stressing all of us out because she needs to be in there while we're at work. Any help/advise anyone can give me to rectify this & get her back to normal would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Morgan's Mom
Hi Morgan'sMom. Could it be that you have recently moved her crate to a different place or room, once dogs are used to a certain spot they aren't usually happy about being moved, but if this isn't the case you could try placing her food inside her crate or a favourite toy and encourage her in, talking gently to her.....letting her know its safe to enter praising her all the time. However patience is required and it may take some time, not knowing what caused her fear in the first place, its not going to be easy. Good Luck :)
8. Hi to everyone, may I say its good to be back after a long time away, but with sadness I have to say we: lost Charlie our Bullmastiff recently, those of you who remember this very special boy he had cancer, a tumour on his front leg. He had been diagnosed with it a few weeks before we sadly had to have him put to sleep, up until the day he couldn't take no more he was doing fine even if he was hobbleing round the garden, he was still his playfulself but it was getting to much for him toward the end, so hubs and I decided it was time to let him go. You can immagine how difficult it was for us. I was there with him that day and it totally broke my heart looking into his eyes for the last time, we were devestated although we knew it was for the best. I will never forget this gentle sweet natured boy, he will always have a special place in our hearts and know he will be looking down on us. We have kept his ashes in a beautiful urn, glazed white with FORGETMENOTS on it. I will post him in Memorial. Thanks for looking in. Shannon
9. Chilli dog, it may be kennel cough....as your dog came into contact with any others dogs ? if he has then its likely to be that. Best to seek advice from the vet first to see if it is. However benelin cough mixture is good for the cough and also a little ice cream to sooth the throat. Good Luck
10. Thanks everyone for your support, Linda will very much appreciate it.

13. WE ONLY WANTED YOU They say memories are golden well maybe that is true We never wanted memories, We only wanted you. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, In death we love you still. In our heart you hold a place no one could ever fill. If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, We'd walk the path to heaven and bring you back again. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Goodnight Zak     Zak
14. Thanks Debbie. Penny is a lot better :) Her wee is back to normal and she is coming back to her usual playful self
15. Zak, my friend Linda's Bullmastiff died on the operating table today, he had an inflamed pancreas :(  Zak had been poorly for about a week, he went off his food and water I didn't think this would happen, I thought whatever it was he'd pull through    Zak baby
16. K, she's just had some chicken and rice......eaten the lot :D Im not happy about her wee wee though, its still bloody :( Nadooshkinz, we got to take her back up the vets on Monday, he should know then hopefully, Oh and its not friday girls, (got the days mix up)
17. Hi and thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Penny seems a bit brighter :) the antibiotics must have kicked in. She hasn't eaten much today :-? so Im keeping an eye on that. Has been playing ball with Emma but still not herself running around, although she isn't supposed to. Her playing at the moment is tapping the ball with her paw.
18. Merickson. First of all congratulations on your new addition :D Secondly you need a site like photobucket to put your photos here otherwise they won't work. When you have uploaded them to that website, click on a photo, then right button on your mouse, go to properties. Type in the URL Address, then copy and paste the link here. Put it like this [img] http://forum.dogomania.com/images/smiles/new_bdaysmile.gif [/img] making sure there are no spaces.
19. Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Penny is still the same just lying there on her bed :( no improvement as yet :( Hope there will be tomorrow :(
20. Back from the vet with Penny. The vet took a sample of her urine but can't say what the problem is at this stage :-? and are saying it could be an infection of the kidneys :( or gall stones  but we won't know till later on. Because she as been drinking loads of water her belly is quite full so the vet can't get to feel her stomach yet.......we were told that if she gets any worse today, to bring her back tomorrow, she as got to go back end of the week. We were given some antibiotics for her and she as had 2 injections. When he squeezed her sides it was quite painful :( :( He told us to rest her but she is still the same as yesterday, no go in Penny at all :( :(
21. No Dogpaddle, we never use pesticides in the garden and hasn't been anywhere she could have eaten any. She is 9 years old.
22. For those of you who remember Penny, our Border Collie/Springer, well she's ill :( While i was in the garden with the dogs, i noticed Penny's wee had blood in it and she hasn't been her usual self jumping around playing, its unlike her :( so we are going to see the vet. Penny's sides feel quite hard as well, she as also been drinking a lot of water  i know this can indicate kidney failure....hope to god its not :cry::cry: and its just an infection :cry: Please pray for my little girl :( :(
23. Thanks for your reply Kiwi. Well i had a chat to Linda today not concerning showing but thought i would mention it and she said it's up to us if we show our pup or not....but my hubby and myself were willing to show anyway, and she did mention that they would do the handling for us as well, if we wanted that. Mouse these are very good friends of mine and i know they wouldn't make us do something we didn't want and would be with us all the way giving us advice etc. They are in a Bullmastiff club who have a long list of people waiting for pups, and Linda and Derek will only allow there pups go to suitable loving homes.....so we have no problems there. I will be seeing them friday so i will find out more then. Thanks again :)
24. Thanks Jeff Obviously i will be getting more info from friends, Linda and Derek when the time comes but i just wanted some from here as well, and although its to soon, they didn't mention about showing the bitch we will be having from them but i'm sure they will mention it. Thanks again!
