I'm going to leave this board,I can't take it no more.I just witness my dog get killed,and I'm not going to take this negativity.I already have enough on my hands with losing a family pet & I don't need this from no one.I didn't dilberately had him on off-leash near a road so he could get killed.Beinging 15 has nothing to do with responsibility,this could of happen to anyone.I was just saying I was 15,because it wasn't my choice to send Cookie to the shetler,I'm not the adult of the house to make a decision like that.Some things you guys say makes me feel like I neglect & abuse my dogs.You guys could keep saying I'm a horrible owner,and should never own a living thing.My dogs don't have all the kongs and 100 dollar beds like your dogs have,but they sure had enough nurture & love.I know plenty of you might not agree with this,because your telling me to give Didi away,tell that someone who lost his daugther/son to a car,because s/he wasn't leashed up to his/her parent to give away his/her other and only child s/he has left.So goodbye dogo.

I have a rat terrier & they confuse her with a chihuahua or fox terrier. My shih tzu I don't get so much confusion,except once someone thought he was a lhasa apso.

what do you guys think about it? Who Gets The Dog is basically like some adoption tale stories,but its interesting. And Barking Mad is like the british version of Good Dog U. I'll really like if they gave more new shows of Breed All About It though.

great story!!in hurricane charlie & others you seldomly saw birds in the air.it was weird going to the supermarket,because its usually packed with flocks of birds.and in dominican republic with hurricane george the livestock dissappeared,but after the hurricane they all started to pop all.

If I had to choose between living in Miami and New York.I'll chose New York in a heartbeat.I love the beaches and all,but I love pitties,and NY seems like a better place for them.I would like to own one or a staff when I'm older,since my mom is caught up in the whole bad rap thing.But what I noticed in Animal Cops in NY is that they show cases were dogs are taking from a dog fighting incident and still are able to find a good home for the ones that are able to recover and not be aggressive.But in Miami Animal Cops I haven't seen one case where there was a pit taking from a dog fighting incident,but just illegally own by responsible owners. :( Also NY I think from what I seen has more gangs than in Detriot.And most gangbangers are enganged in pit bull fights,but Detriot outlaws them,and NY doesn't.I'm not sure about Houston.But I think Detriot & Miami Animal Cops should be outlawed from Animal Planet. And they call themselves animal lovers?What is your thought in this?

The same ones in that horrid Animal Cop show.The dog who was a show dog,was in Dade County (miami) for vacation with his family,with another pitbull who was taken away from the owner.These dogs play with the owner's baby which is a couple of months old.I can't remember exactly.The officer shot it because it ''charged'' at her.And since dogs are outlawed in Dade County,they took the other dog & its probably going to be euthanzined (sp?).But the family do live in Broward County (where I'm at) where pits aren't outlawed.

i was a visitor,i only stay there a couple of weekends.i mean like pets aren't permitted,if your like the person who lives there & the pet is going to stay there.i don't live at my dads,i only visit there.

actually the neighbor has a dalmatian & she's the most anti-social thing i've ever seen.as for paco the bulldog sleeps with gorda the family cat.actually i seen a show on animal cops,with this same problem.where two american bulldogs were found in dade county.and the owner HAD the papers & still had to remove the dogs,because the cop claimed it was a pit.are they banning dogs now just on appearance?are staffies & bulldogs next too? :evil: .but the thing is she doesn't have legal papers or pedigree on paco.paco was from an unwanted litter,of whom gorda's vet gave my friend & the vet said it was an american bulldog & so does paco's new vet.if you put a purebreed pitbull & compare it to paco,they look very different.i think the cop was probably confuse because it was brindle & american bulldogs are rare here,except the white kinds.and the brindles do look sorta like pits.but if you see [url]www.dogbreedinfo.com[/url] & compare it to paco,it has the same appearance to an american bulldog not a pit bull.and i'm still angered at the banning of pits in dade county.and the worst part is a drug-dealer's pit mauled a kid in broward & they are considering it here too!!i sign those petitions-online for both dade & broward county & hope this BSl bs stops :x

Thanks everyone for your advice,my dad told me he was there at the doorstep when he got home.He's taking care of him & is in the process of making found posters.good thing he isn't a barker,because dog's are not allowed in the apartment.if we can not find an owner,debbie i will pm you about the rescue groups.thanks everyone again.i'm so glad that he's doing okay.also before we find the owner,we're going to take him to this program called s.p.o.t.,that neuters dogs in south florida for only $10.sure its mcdonald money,but the cause is worth it!!and compare to other places,its a LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW cost.& its comes with the rabies shot & tag!!thanks for bringing up that thought too mutts would of totally forgotten about neutering.thanks everyone for your replies & i'll keep you update on Nelly. and as for the update on lucky,he's raising his leg!! :D

no,that's the thing.but they vet said it was an american bulldog,& you could tell the difference.if you knew your pits.but wouldn't blood test prove it?

This weekend,I went to take Lucky to his frist dog park!!So I went to my dad's in Little Havana (sorta like a mini Cuba).So the dogs there are usually loose.Me,Didi,& Lucky went to Walgreens to get a few supplies for our day.Bug repellent,bottle water,and snacks for after the park.When me & Didi use to walk to Walgreens we always met up with a little jack russell mix.I called him flaco (skinny in spanish).Because he was thin,not rib-showing thin,sorta like greyhound thin.But this time he followed us.Even inside Walgreens!!When we got home,I took him back where I found him without the dogs,& he stilled followed me home.When you find stray dogs you just can't call the humane society,rescue group or the cops.Over there pet dogs roam free around the street.Actually I met with a woman who recently lost her dog,and she never heard of the method,where you check on the shetlers if your dog is missing.She just posted posters.Like most people there do.So I felt sorry for the little one so I fed him & gave him a ncie warm bath.I gave him a pillow outside the door.When I woke up,he was gone.So I was like okay,he must of gone back to his owner.So I took Didi & Lucky to the park.Where they had a blast.Lucky tried to hump a shar-pei :o .Didi tried to hump a female :o .Lucky made friends with some boxers.Didi growled at a lab.I met my 1st pharoh hound.And so on.By the end of the day,they were pooped.So I went home & guess who was at the doorstep?Little Nelly.I dubbed him that name.I fed the dogs,as well as him.And they took their nap.All cuddle up.They looked so cute.I'm not going to lie,I got attach to the little fellow.I got him glow-in-the-dark collar since I'm assuming he spent most of the time in the streets,the cars won't hit him.Once they woke up,so they won't tear up the house,I took them to a little park nearby.Then it was time to go.Didi & Lucky got on the car.Nelly chased the car!!! :o We drove by where I found him & he still was chasing the car.I felt horrible.Poor dog.once we got to a busy road,he stopped chasing.But the determination of little Nelly,was a shock to me,I never seen a dog like that.Maybe it was the food or companion.I couldn't turn him in,because he could of been someone's pet.I hope he's okay.My mom will kill me,if I brought another dog home,plus two is enough for me.Do you think I did the right thing,leaving him?

My friend had an american bulldog,loved it to death.had him for 3yrs.and the neighbor called & said it was a pit bull.and pit bulls are banned in dade county.the cop insisted it was a pit,she even gave the cop her vet papers.still,ma'm i know my dogs & thats a pit. :x .she had 72 hours to remove it or well you know :cry: .if she didn't have relativies in broward county,omg i'll file a lawsuit. :cry:

Okay one moment Didi & Lucky are cuddled up in the bed & the next they're at each other throats.Do any of you two dogs owner have this problem.I mean somedays they're best buds,but then others they get jealous of one another.I give them both equal time.And talk about twins.Same toys,bowls,collars,tags,everything!Am I doing something wrong or is it maybe just jealously sometimes.Some example when they fight are toy/treat aggression (of course),when I'm petting only one of them,when Didi doesn't want to be bothered (sh'es an ol' lady but hyper!).And sometimes just out of the blues.Its nothing serious.They just have a bark/growl off.But I did had to keep the rawhide apart,since they had a dog fight over that.But it was short since I was there & broke it off.Thank God.Advice?Help?Stories? thanks!!the third picture shows how much hair he had.personally if he wasn't matted when we got him i would of had the show dog look for him.as you could see he has the little bow on his head.i hope he doesn't mind :lol: when we took him to the groomers,i was so used to having didi's nails painted,i asked why didn't they paint his!! :o thanks!!you stole my title!! lol he's a shih tzu. thanks everyone :wink:

Didi & Lucky (shih tzu pup got renamed) went to the groomers today.And since this dog was found wandering in the streets,it had tons of tangles & matts on him.So we took him to the groomer & it was a furry head,naked body lol!!They were going to leave the tail fluffy too,but it had too many knots.How long does it take for a shih tzu's coat to grow?And it doesn't sit the same anymore,it use to sit with the legs stretching out,now it sits like Didi,in a curl ball sorta way.But he looks so silly,glad to see that face under all that fur!! :lol:
