1. Hi IYPChrissie.

Aww poor baby, what sort of allergies does Dakota have ?
Did you have her from a rescue or breeder ?

Charlie as an allergy to pollen. I have to keep him off grass otherwise the skin around his belly turns black, developing sores, he also loses some hair....which takes a while to grow back. I have been using vaseline and it seems to do the job. I rub loads in, around the area everyday. It as started to dry up a little now but the black will take weeks or even months to dissapear and be the normal pink color again, it doesn't seem to bother him but it does me and its not very nice to look at!!

Talk to you soon :D

P.S I am sorry you can't see the photo's. You can try the link below..there are a few of Charlie.

2.
Thanks guys, you are so awesome!! I hope she sniffs me out, maybe my bullmastiff vibes will find her
Hi there and Welcome :D

Charlie plays with my other two dogs, but more recently to everyone hes been playing with Penny lol.

3. I have seen dogs left in cars especially at shows, you know because it comes over the air (CAN THE OWNER OF CAR blah blah blah PLEASE GO TO THERE DOG AS ITS VERY DISTRESSED!
Your thinking why on earth bring a dog to the show if its going to be left in the car. It makes me so angry :x
Even if the weather is cloudy it can still be very warm for them.
We don't take our dogs out in hot weather...if say, we go for a drive somewhere but we do if its cloudy....the windows are always down with the air conditioner full on.
I often turn round to see there fur and ears flapping about so I know they are fine. Penny leans with her head up the mesh to get it all LOL

If on holiday when mojority of the time the dogs are with us....we walk them very early before the sun comes up, and again early evening.....in between trips they have freedom in the garden with plenty of water!

4. Its stupid and very cruel.....many people seem to leave the windows up with there poor dogs in the car. I know what it is like being in the car when it is hot and usually I have the window down but there as been occasions when I don't and blimey....its like being in a sauna...so I can immagine what its like for those poor dogs.
Dogs can get hot just walking them as well....the best time is in the evening when the sun as gone down and its cool!
The only times my dogs are out in the sun....is the back garden....I make sure they lye in the shade.

5. Something triggered my memory to say this.

When you take your dogs out in the car in hot weather, please make sure that you have all the windows open with the cool air and fan on, stop now and again to give them fresh water. A long time ago we were out in the car...it was a very hot day and not far from home. We both heard this weird noise coming from Patch our little Westie mix, as I wasn't driving I looked round and noticed him lying there breathing and panting heavily on the backseat...of course we had no idea what was wrong so we pulled over and got out.
I put his lead on him incase he made an attempt to jump out the car, but the way he was that wasn't going to happen....panicking we both got him to sit up...still breathing strangely...he slowly crawled out the car...his legs wobbling, we had a bottle of water with us for him and put some in the bowl...he didn't seem interested at first and was still panting heavily....so then I got one of the towels we always take with us (incase of emergencies) and dampened it with cold water then wrapped Patch in it.....within a few minutes he started to feel fine...still wobbly and panting but his breathing had calmed down a lot....we took him straight to the vet who said he had Heatstroke!!
We had both windows down in the back but didn't have any air conditioning which probably could have prevented it as there wasn't any wind that day to keep Patch cool.
We are very careful now. Thought I should mention it incase anyone ever gets in that situation!!

6. Whodoesthat.

I am glad you bothered us hun...Oswald suites him and he is sooo adorable. I was only looking at a adult blue merle Great Dane, on a rescue site yesterday :D

8.
well my brother came this weekend with his female 70 pound red dobie who is also somewhat borderline with other dogs and what do you know but she and dresden have had no problems whatsoever ! good grief, dog's are so umpredictable sometimes, this time it was at least a very pleasand suprise :)
Its lovely when dogs get on. So happy to hear dobie and Dresdan have both got on so well :D I was watching my dogs Charlie 'Bullmastiff and Penny' Border Collie mix, playing in the garden today....she got him on the floor biting his ears and pulling his cheeks.....Charlie just lay there and took it. He did get up now and again to nibble her ears and face.
I think they picked it up from the neighbours two Boxers...they are forever playing in the garden.....you can hear them both growling lol

I have taken some photos of my dogs playing with each other. I will link them here soon, so everyone can see how silly they are

9. Crested its all sorted :D It didn't take long, just needed the settings changed!

Here is the photo I would like as an avatar...its Charlie when he was 9 weeks old. It as been altered has you can see....it just needs the background coloured in and made smaller, if there is a problem with it hun....just let me know ok ?

Thank you so much

12. BentleysMom.

One of my dogs Patch had kennel cough when he went missing and was taken to the RSPCA...he was a year old.
The vet treated it and said to keep him away from other pets until it cleared.

I do hope whatever puppy as got clears up soon :(

13.
Finally found someone close to a Jollys  - thought it was only me, fab arent they? Best thing is you can take your dog in with you (we used to take Buffy down there and pinch the food out of the help-yourself bins, see if she liked it! )
Been getting the Autarky from there for about a year, but it's not a common brand they might have only added it to your one recently.
Only reason I've changed to Davies is because I can get that delivered by the bloke up the road, but apparently CSJ (who also make a dog food) deliver Autarky - they have a website too, but don't have the link on me I'm afraid.
I usually to go to Pets At Home....but I have been to Jolly's once or twice!!
The one near me is quite a big store....it has a good choice for pets :D
I always look on there board when we go in....to see what is for sale.
I did get a keyring of a Bullmastiff and a dog tag in shape of a Bullmastiff from there, which you can't find in many pets shops so I was quite pleased
Next time I go in I will have a look for Autarky.

I am just wondering where you heard the above information??? to my knowledge these breeds eyes do not require the hair to cover their eyes due to the eyes being sensitive to light...remember purebreds are not "orginal" dogs...they have been bred by people to have the look or pocess the motor patterns that either help us or are pleasing to the eye...for most long haired breeds (for example the Old English Sheepdog) the working dog does not pocess as much coat as the "show" quality dog has. Most breeders keep the dogs in long coat for show, but would probably recommend to a pet owner to have the dog scissored.
I knew of someone who had a Kerry Blue and Yorkshire Terrier.
the Kerry Blue would be trimmed quite often to remove the dead hair and it was always cut from his face.....over the years he had nothing but problems with his eyes, eventually he went blind.
The Yorkie had bows in his hair and eventually he went blind has well...after the vet examined them...he said there eyes were sensitive to light because the hair was removed from the face :-?

15. Barbiro.

I like your website hun :D I tried to send you a photo of my Bullmastiff to put in your gallery yesterday, but I was having problems scanning one!
The computer has recently been formatted and parts of the scanning toolbox as been lost :-? I will have to get my man to have a look
Soon as its sorted I will send you one of my dog...if you dont mind that is

Shannon - I use a halter on Indy too and it really does help - on a flat collar he would just pull me off my feet. On the halter although he still goes crazy I can control him much better. He is coming up on 50kg so there is only about 10kg between us and boy is he strong.
I don't know whether Im right or wrong here, but I honestly think that halters are designed for dogs with longish faces than the shortish ones.
Whenever Charlie pulls it rides up his face...he can be very strong at (he weighs 9 stone, just a stone lighter than myself) :o times when he sees a dog or person and won't give in untill they pass us!
Its lose enough to put three fingers through the strap...any tighter than that it rubs his face :-?

17.
The puppy we brought home is a lab mix. He's golden with a little white right on the tip of his tail and also on his paws. He's really cute. Still looking for a name for the little guy. Need to find one before he starts to think his name is puppy!!
:D
I am so happy for you hun. I do hope you have many wonderful days and years to come with Puppy....he sounds lovely :D

I thought you would like to see this link of names:
