  1. It is common in neutered or uneutered dogs, especially as your German Shepherd is still young...he is still only a baby and his hormones are still on the go, give him time...as he gets older, it will be back to normal again. Can I ask how old he was when you had him done ?

  2. So many dogs end up in rescue because people make the wrong choice, instead of researching the breed first they rush into it! People do not think what they are taking on, whether it be a small, medium, or large breed, all breeds are different in character
And it depends on the owner to sort there training out from puppyhood, never letting the dog rule the roost, this is when problems occure. Not all breeds suit people, some have not got the patience to own a child never mind a pet, but they never get rid of there own flesh and blood, so why a animal. It takes a lot of time, love, patience, and training to bring a puppy up to be happy and content. I own 3 dogs, plus 3 cats..they have all been bought up together so they get on really well, and one of my dogs is a male Bullmastiff, who I love dearly! the others are a male Westie cross, and they both get on great, and a female Border Collie cross. I would never part with them. I believe that if you are a true animal lover, you will do anything to make your pet happy, if not then you should go out and buy a toy one, that doesn't need looking after.

  3. Personally owning a large breed takes up a lot of time and money, unless you do a good research of the different breeds first, you could end up regretting it. I own a 2 year old Bullmastiff who I adore, as well has the breed itself, he is a joy to own. I did a thorough research about the breed before deciding whether it would be my ideal choice, and because of this I can give people advice about the Bullmastiffs needs. (Even though it turned out to be the right choice), large breeds are not suited to everyone, they might have the looks that attracts people to them, but they also come with a price which is there health, Mastiffs as well as Bullmastiffs do get a lot of these problems, which also depends on the care from puppyhood to adult. the major ones are Hip Dysplasia and Bloat, which both can be avoided if the owner takes proper precautions, the minor is Worms and Skin, like insect bites, acne etc, can be treated by your dogs vet. Shops brand are not strong enough for some breeds. And also a good brand of high fibre dog food biscuit is recommended with meat or fruit.

I have given out a little bit of my info, but if anyone would like more. You can email me at the Bullmastiff Discussion!
