1. I buy gifts for the dogs and cats. This year they are getting spoiled, I won a draw and got a bunch of dog stuff for them. I usually spend about $20-$30 dollars on all the pets, they have stockings too. Sabine-A doggie Christmas party with grab bags sounds awesome! I'd never thought of that before! I'd rather go to a dog party anyday. :D
2.  Poor little puppy. I'm so sorry for your loss. RIP little pup.
3. That bugs me so much! Last week someone I know said they want to buy an acreage and breed dogs!! They can't even control the little demon dog they have, it's a terror!!! I had an idea that I think would do some good. For any unneutered or spayed dog you own there should be a yearly breeding licence you have to buy, say $300 to $500 per unspayed female and about $200 per unneutered male. Anythime someone has a female dog the first thing they think of is breeding her. I've had so many people ask if my Jesse could breed their female dog. Until I tell them he's neutered and that they should do the same with their dog instead of adding to the problem.
4. Our shelter charges $140 for dogs and puppies and $90 for kittens and cats. They have all their shots and are neutered or spayed unless they're too young, then you're given a gift certificate to get it done when they're older. It's also a no-kill shelter. I think those are good prices but I've heard people complain that they're too high! :-? :)
5. I wouldn't clone Jesse, I think it's creepy. I read that ad too, $32,000 to clone your cat!!!! That's pretty extreme, I'd just adopt another cat from the Humane Society.
6. That's awful, stupid AC. I wondered if our AC would enforce the by-laws. Oh, I forgot to mention. It's also illegal to abandon your pet, like dump it in a field. Not many people get caught though. My sister works with someone who had two cats, a kitten and an adult male, dropped off on her doorstep in minus -40 celcius weather this last winter!!!! The poor kittens ears were froze by the time the woman seen them and took them inside. Well, she put up an ad to find them new homes as she had five cats already and said in the ad that they had been abandoned. She found homes for both but just a few weeks ago she got the adult male back. Turns out the person she gave him to dumped him in a field and someone picked him up and traced the tatoo back to her.( She'd had them tattoed and neutered.) People can be real jerks! Poor cat. :(
7. Kevin Spacey owns a terrier, don't know what kind. And a black lab.
8. I was reading the animal by-laws for our city and found out some stuff I didn't know before. I was wondering what your by-laws are like? Here are some of ours: If an animal is not given food, water, or attention for fifteen consecutive hours the animal control officer may romove the animal and the owner may be charged as well as may for any medical treatment the animal may require. (I was suprised that the animal must also be given attention, I was glad to hear it wasn't just food, water and shelter that was required.) Also it's illegal to abandon any animal and you can be charged. I was glad to hear that too. I think you also have to pay for a breeders licence if you breed dogs or cats. What are your by-laws like are they much different?
9. My sister is getting married in July and I have permission from her fiancee to bring Jesse, my terrier, with me as it's an outside wedding. I want to get him a tuxedo to wear to the wedding but am having trouble finding one. I was wondering if anybody knew of a good place to get one. I would prefer that it be in Canada because of the exchange rates and all, and not expensive. I found one that was $185!!! :o Another I found was only 26.99 but after shipping and the exchange rate it came to $60. Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks. :D
10. I agree with Courtnek, and why are they still breeding more when they kill so many a year?!. Our Humane Society is a no-kill shelter however the dogs are not kept in cages most of the time. One dog has been there for 6 years and another for 4. The six year old dog has free run in a few rooms almost all the time. When someone is at the shelter, which is fairly often, the dogs are out of the kennels, playing outside, being walked by the volunteers, etc. Not that all shelters are like this unfortunately.
11. I've seen quite a few mutts with docked tails. Is it a new rage or something, do people think it's macho? Idiots.
12. (I've never seen the show.) I don't like it either when someone calls their dog an "it", or any other pet for that matter. I make it a point to call the dog a "he" or "she".

Bulldogs

I'm thinking of getting a Bulldog (English) when I move out and get my own apartment. I want to do a lot of research before then so I was wondering if someone could give me some info. Like how are they in an apartment, with other pets, temperament, the pros and cons of the breed etc. I can't seem to find this kind of info in any library books. :-? I have located a breeder but I haven't called them yet. Any info would be welcome. Thanks in advance! :D
14. :-? What a moron! Poor dog, it's going to be totally confused. There should be a test to own a dog. Too bad stupidity wasn't painful. :-?
