Let the dog stay at your house. At least the dog knows that it is safe in there. But your friends were very kind too, offering to let the dog stay with them. That'll also be great. You said they've got dogs too right, so with that, your dog will have company. Anyways, it'll be your decision.

My dogs here were never been chained. I read somewhere in a magazine that dogs never liked it when their owners chain them. They feel that their owners dont like them.
