1. Who is Sue Sternberg? She calls herself "Hitler" and is a big Star Trek Fan. :D One of her former employees has a few words to say, particularly about the Temperament testing SS has come up with. http://www.webspawner.com/users/phonyroniredbone/
2.
Uhhh no not at all. Not quite what I was trying to say.
No no, Tammy!! :D I was agreeing totally with you! Danged written words anyway...came out wrong! Sorry! I shudda used some emoticons!
3. Nearly any dog who is a loved family member will protect, or at least alert to danger. (except my pit bull  ) Dogs need more than large yards. They need lots of training, attention and being with their family. Putting a GSD (or any dog) in the backyard is not a good idea, IMO. If he is going to be part of the family and live indoors with you, that is another matter. Just the bark of a big dog will chase just about anyone away. My neighbour's house was robbed, but mine was never touched because at that time I had a big GSD mix with a ferocious bark, but he was in the house where his bark would do some good.:)
4.
like that SS lady who was in that Shelter Dogs special on HBO - what a nut!
LOL! You have made an enemy now! Ms. Sternberg is Primorse's IDOL, and any negative comments about her result in P red-faced and screaming "LIAR! IDIOT! LUNATIC!" at any detractors. BTW, I agree she is a nut.
5.
So how are you part of the solution?
What do you think? REPUTABLE breeders do NOT breed because there is a "demand" for a breed. Only puppymills and backyard breeders do that.
6. It's German, and I got kind of curious and found this: ""The International All-Breed Canine Association of America (IABCA) began approximately fifteen years ago with the intent of making an International "UCI" Championship Title available to the American public while not exposing the dogs to the danger and inconvenience of international travel. To accomplish this, an association was formed with an International Association of dog clubs headquartered in Germany, the Union Cynologie International (UCI). The UCI organization has been in existence for over 30 years. There are many countries, throughout Europe, North America and the Far East, represented in the association. Through UCI, International Titles are awarded to dogs who meet the requirements." "IABCA shows are held in accordance with the German regulations and guidelines that have been established by UCI. The guidelines provide for a WRITTEN CRITIQUE OF EACH DOG ENTERED and a rating number of how well the dog conforms to the International "UCI" breed standard. The rating a dog received, based on the critique, will determine the type of championship certificate, if any, is awarded in the class. Each dog will receive an "URKUNDE" (certificate of participation) with it's class placement noted. NOTE: The International "UCI" standards are based on the "country of origin" for each breed, if possible."
7. Poor witto baby! Are there any cat rescues in your area who could take him and put him in a foster home?
8. Glad I don't have all those ugly ribbons in MY house! Definitely don't match my decor:lol:   I guess Primorse is glad they aren't littering up her abode, either!
9. OMG!! Do you want a matching set?? We have that cat's twin - "Charley" weighing in at 26lbs.
10.
No, what I see she writes is how horribly irresponsible many of the owners and breeders of Pit Bulls are.
And her purpose of harping about that here is......???? Wonder how many "horribly irresponsible owners and breeders" post here.
Obviously it's because I'm horribly irresponsible,
No, I think it's all those "ugly rosettes" your dogs have won. Offends her fashion sense!
11.
and I forgot we dont always lock primmy threads...sometimes we just delete them...ROTFLMAO

12.
Yeah but if you look at the "championship" paper its all in German and have you ever heard of that registery before?
No, I didn't see that! And 1500$+ for merles? Is merle in the standard for Poms?
13. Not sure what I'm drinking to, but..
14. I don't know...one of their studs has been shown to a championship. BUT the fact that they are breeding so much seems like they are merely breeding to create pets to sell and make money, and not for any other reason. Sounds very backyard breeder to me. And yeah, nice that another family member bred a litter of mutts.

16. As long as there are fools willing to pay 1500$ for a mixed breed dog (that they could find in any shelter) these "breeders" will continue to pump them out! "CKC standard"??? They must be referring to the Continental Kennel Club, since last I heard, the Canadian Kennel Club does not register mixed breeds.
17.
I don't "act like a lunatic,"
I must gently disagree with this. But when CarolK9 posted about her off leash dog going up to two leashed dogs and commenting on the attitude of the owner, YOU post about "horrible terrible aggressive dogs" and their irresponsible owners. I think we all know what "dangerous" dogs you are referring to. This had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the discussion, and ranting about aggressive dangerous dogs on that thread made you look like a ...well...like a trolling lunatic. Sorry about that.
18. Gee, Prim - why would you want to hang out on a board populated with unreasonable liars? :o
19. One of my neighbours had this fence for her two Goldens. One of them was fine with it, but the other went through it regularly, as though it wasn't there. I was always finding him on the street and bringing him home. This dog, Elvis, seemed to ENJOY the shocks and would stand right on the fence line with a goofy grin on his face. Another neighbour has it for her GSD. This dog puts up terrifying displays of aggression while behind it, to such a degree that I am afraid to walk my dog past that house anymore, for fear he will come through it. :o As stated, it depends on breed and personality. I would'nt recommend it for dogs like huskies or some kinds of hounds or other dogs with high prey drive. They might be willing to ignore the shock if there is something outside the fence they want badly enough. Also it's not safe to leave a dog alone behind this fence. Recently 3 huge dogs in my area were out milling around in the middle of a busy two-lane road. They are left inside the invisble fence while the owners work, and the electricity had gone off!
20.
Plus we're going on vacation sometime in August, and I'm not sure how that works, do you board the dog or what?
Yes, you could if you want to pay for it. Most rescues are operating on a shoestring, and can't afford boarding, unless it's an emergency. With our rescue, we pay for all vet bills, food etc for the fostered animal. The person fostering must be responsible for getting the animal TO the vet and to adoption events. Of course, if the person fostering can help out, it's deeply appreciated. It IS hard to let go when the animal gets adopted, especially after you have invested so much time and energy into making it as adoptable as possible with training, care and bonding with the pet, but you shouldn't let that stop you from helping to save lives. After all, the dog isn't going somewhere bad, it's going to a loving home with people who really want it.:)
21. I have fostered dogs and seeing dumped, rejected and/or abused dogs go to wonderful and loving homes is very very rewarding!! It does take work, but saving a life is really not that difficult. The only drawback is that no one can tell you how long you will have the dog, and you must be committed to keeping him/her until a home, or even another foster home, comes up. There is usually no other place for the dog to go, so you can't change your mind once you take the dog. If you've never fostered before, I know it seems like a big deal. (I was a nervous wreck before getting my first foster) But I guarantee you'll be glad if you do.:) Tiger looks very sweet, and you would be saving her from possible horrible abuse if you can foster her. It's wonderful that you want to do this, and I really hope you can!!
22. If she has arthritis AND HD, she must be quite painful. When my last dog got old and had arthritis, he got growly too. Maybe getting up from the bed causes her pain and this is a reflex growl, or she thinks the order "GET" is causing the pain and reacting to that? What kind of meds is Kyra on?
23. This person reminds me all to clearly of the despicable scumbag I got my dog from. If you are in Ontario, or any surrounding areas, do NOT give any dog EVER to Sue Hodgins, who called herself Emos Oasis, and do not adopt a dog from her.
24. I hate Animal Planet, period! Everything from the glorification of backyard breeders on the sickening "That's My Baby", to the all-out stupid and ignorant comments ("Killer bees are the pit bulls of the insect world" and "Tasmanian Devils are the pit bulls of the marsupial world") bug me no end!!
25. He almost looks like he could have some Chow in him..
