1. This is my Goliath. He is a Bulldog (English). Well maybe he is a racoon or a burglar...maybe batman...I guess I am not sure. He is alot of things to me and my wife. :P
2. How about "Repo" as in reposses? I assume he'll he be bringing back what you shoot or helping you to find game. Just my initial thought. Will post more if I can think of anything.
3. Great info! Thanks for taking the time to post it for us.
4. My Goliath, an English Bulldog, wears a black spiked collar when we go out for walks. We got it because we think it just suits him (vanity thing). We find that peope are still attracted to him because he is just so darn cute! i think that with English Bulldogs, peolple kind of expect that from them. Think of the last ad you saw in a magazine using a Bulldog. I bet it had a spiked collar on. No one seems afraid or offended by Goliath's collar.
5.
I saw a test on her... They took like 10 sick dogs at a vets office. She was given a few minutes with each, to tell what their sickness was... The vets of course already knew... She didn't get any right, not even close at all... She is a proven phony! But people still watch it, so she's still on the air!
I'd be interested in seeing/reading that. Can you tell me where you saw that?
6. C'mon guys! She has to be for real! I mean I was watching one time and she said that the dog loved french fries! I mean, can you believe that? How could she possibly know that a random dog loves french fries? And she also said that the dog loved to be rubbed behind the ears. The owner confirmed thses two statements. Amazing! Oh wait....I guess that probably describes 90% of the dog population. Darn, and I was gonna buy tickets and everything.....
7. That's an easy one! For me it is when Goliath is half asleep and he farts. He jumps up really quickly and turns around to see who is sneaking up on him!
8. That's a very interesting question. I would have to say that without some bad or stressful experience in a dog's past, it would not be possible to have a nightmare. That being said, I don't think the experience would have to be an extreme, like being abused daily. It would really depend on the individual dog's experience of any event. For example, some dogs will get stressed out when left alone and will drool and drool. This is not necessarily the indication that a dog has an unhappy background. It is just that to that dog, being left alone is something he or she doesn't enjoy. I know that one time our Goliath was walking between my wife and the coffee table and somehow got his head stuck between her leg and a door on the table. He couldn't move forward or backward. The way he screamed was terrifying. I think that might qualify as an event he may have a nightmare about. He sleeps with us on our bed and I know that on rare occasions, I have heard him wimpering in his sleep, but I am not sure if it is a nightmare or just a normal dream (playing with a favorite toy) and since he is asleep his vocalization only sound like wimpering. Kind of like when someone first wakes up, there speech is not always very clear. My 2 cents.....er...well maybe 7 cents
9. Usually you have to pay your veterinarian up front and will be reimbursed according to the insurance coverage schedule after submitting a claim. Coverage tends to be somewhat limited with pet health insurance. That is, the reimbursement amounts are usually not close to the full cost of the routine service or medication. So why should you pay for pet health insurance? Piece of Mind. Knowing that in the event of a major health problem (cancer, broken bone, etc.), you have a way to pay for the necessary services is the main reason people carry pet insurance. We've all heard the heartbreaking stories of pet owners who couldn't afford the cost of the necessary care and were forced to put their beloved pet to rest. We carry VPI for Goliath for the above reasons. Personally I would rather he never be sick or hurt and not use the insurance, but I am glad it's there just in case.
10.

I hadn't heard of problems with these drugs. What are the risks? Do you have link to some good info about this? Thanks, James
Yes, the most prevelant side effect is gastrointestinal ulceration, bleeding and general upset. Death has occured using Rimadyl. There are too many links to post. Just use the search bar and put: Rimadyl (Carprofen) or Etogesic (Etodolac) in and you'll see several good sites to visit.
Thanks a ton Hobbit!

12. So the Ottomax is safe for use as a preventative measure? I don't mean everyday but once a week or something? Thanks, James
13. Goliath recently got over a yeast infection in his ear. It was a long battle actually - took almost a month to finally clear up his ear completely because he ended up with a bacterial infection too (poor baby). What ended up working for up was a 3 day treatment of prednisone and something called Ottomax Ointment. What is odd about the whole thing is that we faithfully clean Goliath's ears at leas once a week. Go figure. James and Goliath
14. When it's time send Frank to Goliath's webs site. There are pics of many different Bullies there. Hard not to fall in love with them. :D
15. This should keep me busy over break time. :)
