  1. Thanks for the suggestions. I let you know how she does tomorrow :).
  2. Hi everyone, Well, Baylee has an appointment to get spayed tomorrow. I'm getting a little nervous about it since it is surgery. Is there anything I can do tonight and tomorrow morning to prepare her? Thanks for your help. :D
  3. Thank you for the suggestion. I think my husband and I will go pick her up some new food tonight. I looked at the ingredients..and saw exactly what you were talking about. We were only trying to give her good healthy food. She did finally go. *Huge sigh of relief* Thanks for all of your help.
  4. Yeah, she has had her stool checked and is up to date on all of her vaccinations. I called the vet and they said to give it till tonight because sometimes when you switch the puppy to the bland rice diet it might take them a day or so to digest it. I'm supposed to call them back tonight. I just feel so bad for her. It's hard because they can't tell you what's wrong, so you have to be very observant. Luckily she is acting like her normal self.
  5. I have a 4 1/2 month old chocolate lab. She is on science diet large breed puppy food. :-?
  6. Hi, I sure hope you all can help or give me some advice. My puppy had diarrhea and was vomitting 2 days ago, so I called the vet. They told me not to feed her that evening, and to call in the morning with her results from no food. I didn't feed her, and she didn't have any problems that night or the next morning. The vet told me to start working a little bit of rice into her diet, so I did that yesterday and she still has not had any problems. However, now she is not going poop at all..she hasn't gone in 36 hours. Is this normal? I mean, I thought yesterday maybe her body was still digesting the rice, but I'm really starting to get worried today. Thanks for your help.
  7. Thanks so much for your advice. I have tried it, and she seems to be doing a lot better with her leash. She has started pulling (which is opposite of my last problem), but we have just started some puppy obedience classes which are going well. Thanks again!
  8. I hope someone out there has some advice. My husband and I have a chocolate lab puppy who is 4 months old, and she has a lot of energy. I try to take her for walks during the day, but she just does not want to go. She fights the whole time. I have tried taking her to different places, tried treats, her favorite toy with little progress. The only time she does pretty well is if both of my husband and I take her together. One of us has to walk in front a little bit. Once we get going she really enjoys it, but I'd like to be able to take her out in the morning after my husband goes to work, and then together at night. We do plan to enroll her in obedience training which I think will help, but are there any other suggestions? Is this normal?? Thanks!
  9. I can't imagine what you are going through. My chocolate lab puppy of 4 mos had diarrhea, so I took her to the vet on Tuesday. The vet checked her feces and it came up clear, so the vet told me it was probably just the flu. I was supposed to keep an eye on her until today, Thursday, and if she threw up at all call immediately. Well, she threw up at 7 am Wednesday, so they told me to bring her back in. They told me they were going to run the parvo test, and they asked if I could leave her w/ them for the day so they could monitor her. I was a nervous wreck until I called to find out that the parvo test was negative. She did very well yesterday, so the vet does think that she either ate something or has the flu. They gave me two antiobiotics for her for the next week. I definitely recommend finding a vet that you trust. I was very pleased w/ the service, care, and understanding my vet office gave Baylee. I'm pretty new at all of this, so I won't offer any advice, just sympathy and understanding.
