3. Well, it's my puppies turn! They are up on the big dog contest! TIA to all who vote for them! I don't know if you all remember me, we lost Yukhan (Rottie) to liver cancer back in September  This is one of our favorite pictures from a few years back, of the dogs hugging each other. Yukhan and Kai are depicted on the bottom right, the only two-dog picture. Thanks to all! :) http://www.practical-pet-care.com/bigdog_of_the_week.php

 7. Forgive the off-topic thread; So when does it happen? Is it at 100 posts? When do I get to be labeled "addicted" or "obsessed" or whatever ya call it; hee hee  -- I'm tired of being just a "regular". I need something more than just being an ordinary visitor 'round here. I wanna be "addicted" :drinking: or "resident" or something. :roflt: Guess I'm a bit giddy today... lol....
 8.
By Beth Norman Harris Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do. Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps falls upon my waiting ear. When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements. And I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god and I am your devoted worshiper. Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger. And, beloved master, should the great Master see fit to deprive me of my health, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest--and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.
awwwwwww ::sniffles:: that was so beautiful...
 9.
When researching breeds to see what would suit our family I came across this website and found it interesting. The more reviews that are written the better a resource it will be for others. Many of you may already know about it but here is the link. Hope you find it interesting and have the time to add your two cents. :D (Remember to be honest...we don't want people encouraged to get a breed that doesn't suit them). http://www.hoflin.com/BR/BreedReviewsIndex
oh i would have loved to make some additions but it says they aren't currently accepting anymore reviews? gosh i have a lot to say too LOLOL!
 10.
Seeing as the review page I linked to isn't taking any reviews right now I thought we could start a thread for reviews of our own. Just for fun- we could list 5 good things and 5 not so good things about our dog(s). It could be general about the breed or about our specific dog. It can be humorous or factual and of course you don't have to limit yourself to 5 things. What do you guys think?
Good idea! Well, I will just do KAI.....Kai is our female boxer and she'll be ten in January. The five good things about Kai: She's great with people especially children. :iloveyou: She's SO gentle and affectionate with everyone and she sniffles you like a little bunny. LOL :) She stays by your side and by your children's side and "watches" over you. Is very quiet and doesn't bark much. She is playful and fun to be with. She doesn't shed much... Oh I have a bunch more that I could say about my sweet Kai but that's five as promised. I could go on and on about her.....LOL The not so great things: Well, she's really lazy sometimes and won't listen. No matter how much you call her. LOL She likes to take clothes, linen, or whatever and spread it all over the floor to make her "bed". LOL She's a lil' piggie. hee hee She is very high strung and gets scared easily by certain noises and uses those nails to dig in you. OUCH lol She's very picky about eating but only sometimes; and she likes to stare you down when you're eating. She likes to get into our garbage and take it apart (inside) and we come home to a nice mess of stuff all over. This I don't blame her at all and take full responsibility. It concerns me that she could get hurt too if something in the garbage could harm her so I make sure that I never leave the garbage in the house everytime I go out....I go through a lot of bags. LOLOLOL Well, that's it I guess.

 12.
Are you thinking of adopting Y & K ? You don't have to answer I won't be offended
well, not sure, but i just like getting info on it and i definitely would put stuff like this on my website too so it gets more exposure.....we want those puppers to get a home! :)

 15.
I hope the moderators will forgive me for posting this message in two different categories, but I'm hoping by posting here some Rottie lovers will see it if I posted it here. :) I'm happy to be able to post this note for some very good friends of mine. If anyone here lives in their coverage area I'm sure they would welcome a helping hand or two. -Rachel PLEASE CROSS POST: Serendipity Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has filed for incorporation as a 501(c)3 organization. Serendipity Rottweiler Rescue is devoted to rescuing and rehoming Rottweilers in Alabama, Georgia, and the Florida Panhandle. Serendipity also puts great emphasis on educational efforts regarding the breed and responsible pet ownership. The organization was founded by volunteers who love the breed and believe in giving something back. Its members and volunteers have many years of rescue experience and have participated in several venues of the Rottweiler world including conformation, obedience, agility, carting and herding. All Rottweilers undergo a thorough temperament evaluation prior to entering the program and during their stay in foster care. All dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and completely vetted prior to going to their adoptive home. Potential adoptive homes undergo a thorough screening process to ensure that the dogs go only to individuals who are responsible and understand the special needs of this breed. Serendipity will provide post-adoption support and educational assistance throughout the lifetime of adopted dogs. The organization is currently seeking volunteers and foster homes to assist in its educational and rescue efforts. No special skills or experience are required of volunteers - just a big heart, time on one's hands, and a desire to help homeless dogs. If you live in Alabama, Georgia or the Florida Panhandle we would love to have you join us! For more information visit our web site at www.serenrottrescue.org or send an email to [email protected]
Ooh thanks for this....will check it later when I have more time! Saving this thread to watch! Thanks! :)
