:evil: :cry: I would call the Animal Control folks and tell them just what you have told us. I would then talk to the folks with the loud dogs..NOT to accuse..but to get them as allies. TALK TO ALL THE NEIGHBORS. ask if they have heard any barking. Make a tape. I would them talk to this jerk...oops sorry...meant neighbor...and tell him the same thing. If he is not responsive, I would tell him that he is being harrassing..and maybe your neighbor just needs so legal advise about HIS behavior. Find out where he lived before, find out what his record was there. You might call the local media....stories about sick little ole ladies being harrassed by morons can make a good story.

Talk to your vet...but I understand that dogs should not be fed small bones...such as steak bones...they can splinter and cause major problems.

:roll: Mary...whoever you really are...I do not hate you...but neither do I believe you are a 13-year-old girl. Where does a 13-year-old get around $1,000 to get their dog trained to attack? What does Mary think an "attack" dog and "attack" dog training is? What are the credentials of the person who did the training. They can not be good if they are training a pit and a 13 year old. (poor dog...poor kid...and poor anyone who is around the day this sitiuation gets out of control.) Where do you find someone stupid enough to train a person who is both legally and emotionally a child....to be the handler? What would any judge any where think of parents who allow a child to be the handler of an attack dog and go out and look for a stalker? WHERE are the adults? Hmmmm...your brother is hiding from the police...drugs?....one of his friends makes his social calls by creeping around...and a child has an attack dog? How do you smell FISHY?

:cry: There are a lot of pit owners on this forum...and a loyal lot they are. I think this is great...BUT....sometimes I think those who profess to love this breed are this dog's own worse enemy. How could any pit owner think it was a good idea for Mary to have an attack dog pit?...and the family leaves gates open? Check out the laws in most places for keeping attack dogs..it will specify fence height, gates with locks etc. I know most were bothered by this...but think this is something that no one should approve of. I am referring to the 13 year old child who is out looking for a stalker with a attack-trained pit. (I am so sorry that this child had been put in this situation...and afraid for her and the dog) Here is a quote from the American Vetinary Association: [i]A pet should not be trained as an attack dog. Attack-trained dogs require special handling and knowledge to prevent accidental injury to people, including members of your own family[/i]. What responsible trainer would train a powerful dog such as a pit to be an attack dog...with a 13 year old as its sole handler? Are we going to be reading about this in the paper someday? Neither Mary or the dog deserve being put in this position.

A three year old dog is not too old to neuter a long as he is in good health. Please have it done.

:( One of the biggest lies of those who use animals for experiments is that it is doing good for the vast majority. Yes, there may be some that can be done no other way...but a great number are useless, cruel and unneeded...for example the Draze tests on rabbits. Look at all the drugs that are recalled and they were tested on animals. Humans and animals do not share the same genetics and so many of the tests do not translate. Aspirin is an example. If you give a cat an aspirin...you will kill it...but it is safe in humans.

:( A Bullboxer may be a nice dog...but it is NOT a breed. Try finding it in the AKC, UKC or anywhere else....and calling it a breed does NOT make it one. Breeding two different brees produces a mutt...and I love mutts....in fact I love them enough that I do not want to see more of them churned out...there are enough already here. The person who posted here and seems to think they are a breed is simply mistaken.

:x NO...you are not wrong! If they can not afford the initial expense to acquire the dog...HOW are they going to afford to care for the dog? Can they buy it quality food...or junk...what about medical care? Owining a dog is a privledge...not a right...tell these free lloaders NO.

ok...here are some safe ways to get rid of slugs...the beer bit that someone mentioned is a good idea....also...try any of these....diotemous earth (can get at any garden store), salt, copper wire. Good luck.

:P Chows have a rep for being biters.....but that does not mean that a mix may not be good. My friend has two..one bites...the other is friendly. (and the rep may not be deserved....you might ask your vet for their experience....mine told me they thought they were one of the dogs more likely to bite....but again this is just opinion...not fact)

:cry: I live in Arkansas and it is a MAJOR problem. If you have a dog and don't treat it...their is a high chance of it getting it. Please remember...never give the heartworm prevention w/o having the dog tested first. If the dog is infected and you give it the pills, you could kill it.
