Ickle
-----Original Message----- From: [mailto:] Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 12:56 PM To: ; Subject: [frogdoggers] Romeo died..please read Even this happened in Bull Terrier community, I felt that you all should know about this as all dogs eat things they should not................ Romeo was strong healthy 6 years old Bull Terrier who was very well taken care off. Living in one of the best families I can think off. Romeo got sick on last Thursday morning throwing up yellow bile . He was very sick. His fewer was up to 105,....high white count. Kidneys still good. The vet has been with him all weekend and has let owners stay with him a lot. His owner crawled in the kennel with him and just rubbed him and talked to him. She felt so helpless. By Saturday his Kidney/Creatinine was 7.0. 18 oak leaves were in a perfect ball sitting on the bottom of his stomach. There was a fold of skin between his stomach and his pancreas. That fold had created an abscess that had begun to leak into his abdomen cavity and caused his high temperature and vomiting. His stools were normal the whole time. He never was blocked. The poison from the abscess spread instantly during the surgery. He went into septic shock and all of his intestines hemorrhaged. Monday his Creatinine was 10......... Romeo died in arms of his mom and dad on Monday. Please warn everyone about what can happen and how it happens so quickly. Romeo was such a love to them. This has broken their hearts. Thank you Yana/Lionheart's Bullies Just had to pass this on Ickle

JackieMaya
Maya got real sick last fall when the lawn guys cleaned out the gutters and didn't clean up the gunk that ended up on the ground, and she must have eaten some. I didn't realize until after I had let the girls out that they hadn't cleaned up their mess. I had a $400 emergency vet bill for Maya. She was vomiting for about a week, and had diahrrea one day. She made a complete recovery, but she was a sick girl. So I know how sick dogs can get when they eat the wrong stuff.
imported_Kat
Thats so sad :( When Zoe was a 7 month old pup she jumped up on the table and stole a corn cob with the prong still in it so the silly pup had to have her stomach opened to remove. Needless to say at 13 and a half years old she is still such a thief and will nick anything from socks that have escaped the wash basket to bottles outside on the road! :o
pomeranians
That poor pup... My pom eats just about everything. He gets things I didn't even know that we had on our floors. Socks (which I TRIED to pick up, but apparently I missed some), papers towels, napkins, ect. I'm trying to teach him whats edible and whats not, but he doesn't know quite yet...
