listens better in the snow, why?

I suppose it could be instinctive. Snow is the arrival of winter. To a wolf or wild dog it could signify the instinct that life could get rough now. Maybe he is trying to protect you. I dont know if a dog foresees winter that way, since they are fed all the time, but I guess its possible...

Well my dogs think I am slow and clumsy (compared to them of course,) they also suspect I may be somewhat lame as I can't seem to throw a toy dropped on the ground - it has to be dropped in my lap or hand. Zaphod at least seems to keep an eye on me more if we travel over uncertain terrain etc. Maybe Web has similar concerns about you? :D
