Do you have any specific questions to ask? I'm sure we would be more than willing to answer them.

You probably won't be able to find out for sure what breeds this dog may have mixed in, but if you say it looks like a malamute/husky/shephard than it probably is. :-)

Good luck with him. Is his foot doing any better? You'll probably want to take him to the vet straight away if he's still limping. Is he neutered? If you're going to keep him you'll want to have him neutered also.

Alaskan husky isn't an actual breed per say. It's usually a mix of siberian husky and some other dog or mix. They are mainly dogs bred for sled racing and such.

Sorry, but most Alaskans don't have much of any Siberian in them, at least not in the last 20 years. Siberians are just to heavy and slow, especially for sprint racing. Alaskans are beginning to be an identifiable breed, with about 50 years of breeding behind them. True, there are allot of different breeds mixed in, but since they are bred to perform a specific task, they are are starting to be more predictable as far as conformation goes. There are always the odd ones out however that are good sled dogs because of what's in their hearts and minds and not how they are built.
Most people who believe they have an Alaskan are usually mistaken- the pups that sold as pets by mushers are usually under a spay neuter agreement, at least as far as myself an the mushers I know. Usually they are Siberian mixes, sometimes Malamute- size usually is the determining factor. Here is some Alaskan info from Joe Runyan, an Iditarod winner and excellent dog man:
