sarahmyjoy Posted July 15, 2004 Share Posted July 15, 2004 Its been pretty hot here the last few days up int the upper 90's with heat index of 110+. Anywho, my window AC units have been running non stop and the temp in the house starts out round75 in the AM and steadly goes up to bout 85 or so by the PM. Well today hubby went out and got us a new unit that should take care of the house GREAT!!! OK now the good part.... My girls stay in with us and they were walking around panting and hot for the last few days till today! when he got the unit in Morgan laid down right in the middle of the air flow and rolled over on her back hind legs spread wide and just soked it ALL up!! LOL She had to have laid there a whole hour!! It was to funny you could see the hair on her tummy just waveing in the breeze :lol: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The heat is radiators. no central anything. so the air is all window/wall units. the BIG one is in the living room. both dogs lay on the couch (the permanently installed wall unit is there) and let the cold air "fall down" on them when its really hot. In fact I have it on my computer (along with other dog pics) so if I save it to Dogo's photohosting site I can post it here. Its so cute! :D ...Oh and its really hot here too. It's winter here at the moment so we are using it for heating (no more freezing when I go to bed) however can't wait for summer now. I bet our dogs are going to love it - they are not to keen on the newly heated house at the moment though but refuse to go outside. It's really not just the heat that's unbearable, but the incredible freakin' humidity. So far, our a/c is doing a bang up job of keeping the place cool, but the minute you walk out the door, it's almost like walking into a sauna. Glasses steam up and slide down your nose and beads of sweat pop up on your face instantly (forget about makeup). Sometimes, I miss living in VA. Where I grew up, it would get hot during the summer, but it didn't just linger on and wasn't unbearable. There was also enough snow to enjoy during the winter without spending the entire winter snowed in. Shenanigans Posted July 15, 2004 Share Posted July 15, 2004 One thing I've learned about Newfoundlands is that, like cats who are quick to find the warmest spot in the house, Newfoundlands find the coldest when they're warm. According to Shenanigans anything more than -10 degrees is too warm. Well...I'm exagerrating a little. Aside from a day or two here, it's been a VERY cool summer here in Toronto, which is nice in a way because I can actually bring Shenanigans outside to enjoy it with him. LOL It's been in the 80s with high humidity here lately. Both of my puppygirls are VERY hairy, so when it's hot outside, they LOVE staying in the house where I have central air conditioning. And when they're outside on hot days, I fill up their pool so that they can cool off. My puppygirls and I can't wait for winter to come back! When things get too warm, I've found that giving the dogs blocks of ice and frozen wet towels to slobber over REALLY cheers them up. :wink: But when we sleep with the a/c on, Cosmic actually needs a robe, or he wakes us up, complainig about the cold. :roll: At a mere 23 degrees celcius. It was 85 yesterday w/65 dew point... walk for an hour with Snoopy and i feel like i been in a pool. Snoopy hate the hot weather, and can't wait for cooler temp to come back. PitbullEmily, Snoopy got a red cap just like that, she look silly in it and doesn't really care for wearing it most of the time.
