freddunn
When we had Alfie, he was already trained to come to the sound of the whistle. (We had him when he was 16 weeks old) We still use this method, and he reacts straight away every time. How do we actualy train Scoobie to react. Will he learn from Alfie, in as much that when I whistle and Alfie comes, if Scoobie comes and I reward him is this sufficiant,
courtnek
Scoobie will learn from Alfie with a little help from you. When you whistle for Alfie, call Scoobie at the same time, and treat him. (you should treat Alfie too). Scoobie will probably follow Alfie back. After a while, just whistle for both of them and treat them. after a while Scoobie will catch on. It's easier with another dog showing the ropes. LaureL took most of her cues from Freebee. And now comes back better then Freebee does!!
